Simple addon that adds buttons to the UI to hide/show different elements temporarily.

Description

HideAway puts a small, stylish toggle button on each of your WoW UI panels — action bars, chat, minimap, bag bar, unit frames, and more — so you can hide or reveal them with a single click, any time, without diving into settings menus.

Why it's useful

Screen real estate is valuable. Maybe you only need your stance bar during combat, or your chat window gets in the way when you're exploring. HideAway lets you tuck panels out of sight the moment you're done with them, and bring them back just as fast.

Creative uses

  • Mount bar — Assign your favourite mounts or toys to a hidden action bar. Tuck it away until you're ready to browse, then pop it open and pick your ride.
  • RP toolkit — Keep a bar full of emote macros, toy items, and roleplay gear sets hidden until you need it. No clutter between sessions, full access when the scene calls for it.
  • Situational bars — Hide your pet bar, stance bar, or extra action bars when they aren't relevant to what you're doing, then reveal them on demand without ever touching the default UI options.
  • Presenter / streamer mode — Quickly collapse your entire UI down to just the essentials for a clean screenshot or stream, then restore everything in seconds.

Flexible placement

Every hide/show button is freely repositionable — hold Shift and right-drag to place it exactly where you want it. Cluster all your buttons together in one corner to build your own hide/show control panel, or spread them around the edges of your screen so each button lives right next to the panel it controls.

Button styles

Choose from several button styles to match your character or aesthetic — Classic, Azure, Arcane Orb, DK Rune, Evoker Essence, Monk Chi, and Warlock Shard. More styles are on the way.

Other features

  • Right-click any button to rename it to something meaningful to you
  • Adjust button size to suit your UI scale
  • Optional tooltip suppression for a cleaner look once you know the layout
  • Per-character or global profiles so your setup carries across alts
  • Slash command support via /hideaway
