Description
HDLYB Mount Route is a fully self-contained addon to plan and run mount-farming routes. You pick the mounts you want from a list, click Generate Route, and the addon builds an optimized multi-zone itinerary with TomTom waypoints and tracks every attempt
automatically.
Use it to see which mounts you still need, how many times you've tried each one (including 10+ years of historical kills imported from your stats), and never forget where to go on reset day.
Current Features
Mount List
A scrollable list of 700+ mounts, loaded directly from your in-game journal:
- Localized names (FR if your client is FR)
- Exact "already collected" status from the journal
- Mount icon on each row
- Search box (matches name and source text)
- Category filter dropdown
- Expansion filter dropdown (Classic through Midnight)
- Hide collected toggle
- "Available this week" filter (checks raid/dungeon lockouts via the game API)
- Sort by name, popularity, or drop rarity
Attempt Tracking
HDLYB counts your kills per mount automatically and persists them across sessions:
- Auto-incremented on raid/dungeon kills via
ENCOUNTER_END - Manual +1 button on each row (Shift+Click resets)
- Historical import at first login: reads your Blizzard achievement statistics and seeds the counters from up to 10+ years of past kills, with per-character high-water mark so reloads never double-count
Rarity Display
Each row is color-coded by the actual drop chance, not by how many players already own the mount:
- Orange / Legendary: 1 in 100 or worse
- Purple / Epic: 1 in 30 to 1 in 100
- Blue / Rare: 1 in 10 to 1 in 30
- Green / Uncommon: 1 in 4 to 1 in 10
- White / Common: better than 1 in 4
Routing
Pick the mounts you want, click Generate Route, and HDLYB builds the itinerary:
- Nearest-neighbor TSP algorithm grouped by zone
- TomTom waypoints with crazy arrow navigation
- Capital portal waypoints prepended automatically for cross-continent routes
- Text hints in chat when TomTom hides the arrow off-continent
Compatibility
- WoW Retail Midnight (interface 120005)
- TomTom optional but strongly recommended for the navigation arrow
- No other addon dependency, all data is embedded, no taint risk
