# Hardcore Classes Enhanced
**27+ lore-based character archetypes for WoW Classic Hardcore.**
Pick an enhanced class — like Berserker, Brewmaster, Witch Doctor, or Tinker — and the addon tracks your challenge rules, gear restrictions, quest milestones, and talent requirements as you level.
Some enhanced classes guide you to play sub-optimal archetypes like firestone melee lock (Pyremaster), spirit-based holy/arcane priest (Priestess of the Moon), and tank shaman (Earthcaller). Some have gear restrictions that make you (visually) look cool (e.g., Demon Hunters have to dual-wield swords, wear kilts, and no chest items). Each enhanced class has a large set of requirements that make your leveling journey truly unique.
## What It Does
Each enhanced class comes with a unique combination of constraints that reshape how you play:
- **Equipment rules** — weapon type restrictions, armor limitations, specific item requirements that unlock at certain levels
- **Challenge modes** — Drifter (no hearthstone/bank), Ephemeral (no repairs), Renegade (no quest rewards), Self-Made (craft your own gear), and more
- **Quest milestones** — themed quest chains tied to your class fantasy (Anti-demon, Pro-nature, Ironforge Loyalist, etc.)
- **Talent requirements** — specific talents you must take at specific levels, with spec-majority tracking
- **Companion/pet/mount rules** — required vanity pets, hunter pet species, and mount types
- **Spell restrictions** — can't use spells from a certain spec, or can't summon demons, or can't swith to Defensive Stance
Requirements become ACTIVE at certain levels. After a requirement becomes ACTIVE, the addon monitors it in real time and returns PASS/FAIL depending on whether you are currently fulfilling it. This means that you don't have to create a fresh character to take on the challenges. The addon's purpose is lore-based gameplay guidance, not sweaty verification.
Through **Additional Optional Challenges** & **Non-Self-Found Mode**, the addon allows you to adjust your challenge settings.
## The Panel
A persistent, draggable requirements panel shows your full checklist at a glance:
- Green checkmarks for rules you're meeting
- Red crosses for violations
- Grey entries for level-locked requirements you haven't reached yet
- Progress bar with completion percentage
- Hover tooltips with detailed check explanations
Access it via `/hce panel` or the minimap button.

## The Core Set (check in-game menu by typing "/hce list" for full description of each class and to see the additional)
Each WoW class has exactly 3 enhanced classes — one per talent spec. Your enhanced class is determined by the race, gender, and class of the character you create. The addon auto-detects it on login.

## Installation
Drop the `HardcoreClassesEnhanced` folder into your `Interface/AddOns` directory. Works with WoW Classic Era and Season of Discovery (Interface 11507).
