gSpellSound is a lightweight WoW addon that allows you to bind custom sound effects to specific spells. Whether you need an audible cue for your most important cooldowns or just want to customize your gameplay experience, gSpellSound provides a seamless way to manage spell-based audio triggers.

  • Manual Overrides: Add spells via their Spell ID or include Custom Sound Paths (local .mp3/.ogg files) directly through the interface.
  • Import & Export: Easily backup your configuration or share your triggers with friends using Base64 encoded strings.

🛠️ How to Use

Open the configuration menu in-game via ESC > Options > gSpellSound

Creating a Trigger

  1. Search: Use the Search Box at the top to filter the lists.
  2. Select Spell: Click "Select Spell" to pick from your spellbook, or enter a Manual Spell ID in the box next to it.
  3. Select Sound: Click "Select Sound" to choose from built-in, custom, or SharedMedia sounds.
  4. Set Cooldown: Enter the desired cooldown in the Cooldown (sec) field (defaults to 3 seconds).
  5. Add: Click the green "Add" button to save your trigger.

Managing Triggers

  • Active Triggers: View all your active bindings in the scrollable list at the bottom.
  • Test & Delete: Use the Play button to preview a sound or the Delete button to remove a trigger instantly.

💾 Installation

  1. Download the latest release.
  2. Extract the gSpellSound folder into your WoW AddOns directory: _retail_\Interface\AddOns\
  3. Restart World of Warcraft or reload your UI (/reload).

  • World of Warcraft: Optimized for Retail.
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 (Optional): Recommended for accessing additional sound libraries from other addons.
