gIconRescaler

Take full control over your Action Bar icon scaling and appearance.

gIconRescaler is a lightweight customization tool that allows you to independently adjust the zoom, scale, and cropping of icons across your various action bars. Whether you want a cleaner "borderless" look or need specific bars to stand out, this addon provides the precision the default UI lacks.

  • Independent Bar Zoom: Set different zoom levels for your Main Action Bars, Pet Bar, and Stance/Shapeshift Bar.
  • Icon Edge Cropping: Apply a custom percentage-based crop (e.g., 8%) to remove unwanted borders or adjust the visible area of your icons.
  • Layer Control: Switch icon rendering between the "Background" and "Artwork" layers to solve overlapping issues with custom UI skins.
  • Real-time Updates: Changes in the options menu are applied instantly to your UI buttons without requiring a reload.

⚙️ Configuration

Access the settings via Options > AddOns > gIconRescaler. The following adjustments are available:

  • Main Bar Zoom: Controls the zoom for all primary action bars (1 through 7).
  • Pet Bar Zoom: Specifically targets the Pet Action Bar icons.
  • Stance Bar Zoom: Specifically targets the Stance/Shapeshift Bar icons.
  • Icon Crop (Edge Crop): Adjusts the texture coordinates to "clip" the edges of the icon (0% to 30%).
  • Layer Toggle: Choose between Background and Artwork draw layers.

🛠️ Technical Details

  • Performance: Extremely low memory footprint; logic is only triggered during UI updates or when settings are changed.
  • Compatibility: Designed to work with the modern Dragonflight/The War Within Action Button Mixin system.

Installation

  1. Download the ZIP file.
  2. Extract the gIconRescaler folder into your World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns directory.
