GearComparatorAI bridges the gap between your in-game inventory and the analytical power of external AI models to provide precise gear and talent optimization for WoW Classic and TBC. GearComparatorAI is a specialized World of Warcraft addon for both Classic Era (1.15.x) and the TBC Anniversary (2.5.5) clients. It is designed to take the guesswork out of gear optimization by bridging the gap between your in-game inventory and the analytical power of external AI models (like Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude).

What it Does

The addon scans your equipped gear, your bags, and your bank to build a detailed "snapshot" of your character. It detects your level, your class, and your specific talent point distribution (e.g., 13/43/4 Demonology).

With a single click, it generates a sophisticated AI Prompt that you can copy and paste into any web-based AI. This prompt includes:

• Plain-Text Stats: Translates cryptic item links into readable stats (e.g., "22 Intellect, 15 Spirit") so the AI can perform actual comparisons.
• Detailed Talent Mapping: Provides the AI with your full talent tree breakdown, including specific ranks (e.g., "Improved Shadow Bolt 5/5") to help it understand your build's power spikes.
• Environment Awareness: Includes your specific Game Version, Locale, and Realm information to ensure recommendations are accurate for your specific expansion.
• Comparison Focus: Tailors the advice based on whether you are Leveling, running Dungeons, Raiding, Farming, or PvP.
• Respec Analysis: Asks the AI to evaluate if a different talent tree would perform better with your current gear.
• Visual Reports: Instructs the AI to use Markdown and Emojis to create a clear, readable optimization report.

Why it's Useful

While Leveling

Leveling in Classic or TBC often presents difficult choices between quest rewards. Should you take the item with more Stamina for survivability, or the one with Spell Power to kill mobs faster? GearComparatorAI provides the AI with your "Leveling" focus, ensuring the recommendations prioritize the stats that keep you moving efficiently through zones.

Handling New Drops

When a rare item drops in a dungeon, you might wonder if it's worth replacing a piece you've had for 10 levels. By scanning your bags, the addon allows the AI to look at your entire collection of gear to find the optimal combination, rather than just looking at one slot in isolation.

Spec Optimization

Not sure if you should be Affliction or Demonology at level 60? The addon provides your exact talent build to the AI, allowing it to suggest which items in your bank would become "Best-in-Slot" if you decided to respec.

Farming and PvP

Select Farming to prioritize efficiency and health/mana regeneration for solo play. Select PvP to prioritize Stamina, burst damage, and survivability (including Resilience where applicable) to gain an edge in Battlegrounds or World PvP.

How to Use

1. Type /gc in-game to open the interface.
2. Select your Comparison Focus (Leveling, Dungeons, Raiding, Farming, or PvP).
3. Click Compare Gear.
4. The text box will fill with a generated prompt and automatically highlight it.
5. Press Ctrl+C to copy the text.
6. Paste the text into your favorite AI (e.g., gemini.google.com).

Performance

The addon uses "Dirty Flag" logic. It won't lag your game by scanning every time you pick up trash or reagents. It only performs a deep scan when you loot actual equippable gear or when you click the Compare button.
