Description
FontMagicCustomFonts — Add Your Own Fonts to FontMagic
FontMagicCustomFonts is a lightweight companion add-on for FontMagic. It lets you use your own TrueType fonts (.ttf) for Blizzard’s floating combat text by adding them to a Custom list inside FontMagic.
This add-on does nothing on its own — FontMagic is required.
What It Does
- Adds up to 20 of your own .ttf fonts to FontMagic’s font dropdown under Custom
- No extra UI, no settings — it simply provides font files for FontMagic to use
- Works anywhere FontMagic works (all versions of World of Warcraft)
Installation
- Install FontMagic
- Install FontMagicCustomFonts
- In-game, enable “Load out of date AddOns” if needed
Add Your Fonts
Put your font files here:
FontMagicCustomFonts/Custom/Rename each font file to a number from 1 to 20:
1.ttf,2.ttf,3.ttf… up to20.ttfLaunch WoW, open FontMagic, and select Custom in the font list.
If you add or replace font files while WoW is running, you’ll usually need to log out and back in before the files will appear under custom.
Applying the Custom Font
Font changes require a quick reload point in WoW:
- Select your font (under Custom) in FontMagic
- Click Apply
- Log out to character select and back in (relog)
(Font size changes and combat-text toggles apply immediately in FontMagic.)
Troubleshooting
My font doesn’t show up under “Custom”
- Confirm the file is .ttf (not .otf)
- Confirm the filename is only the number (e.g.
7.ttf) and within 1–20 - Confirm the path is exactly:
FontMagicCustomFonts/Custom/ - Fully close WoW and relaunch after adding new font files
- Make sure both add-ons are enabled (and “Load out of date AddOns” is checked if required)
Support / Feedback
If something behaves differently on a specific WoW version, please leave a comment with:
- your WoW client (Retail / Classic / etc.)
- your version number
- what you expected vs. what happened
You can post feedback on the FontMagic comments page.
