ChatClassicFade

ChatClassicFade helps the game fade the chat window frames all the way like it used to. Especially to help fade the annoying combat log window's big black bar. After patch 3.3.5, Blizzard made everything stay visible forever and unable to adjust in game which is rude.

To be clear, this addon only deals with the rectangular background window around the messages. The chat messages you read are not affected and you can still see them like you always normally did.

FEATURES:

• The background of the chat windows will automatically fade when login.
  
• The background of the chat windows will automatically fade when the mouse moves away.
  
• The tabs in the chat window will automatically fade when the mouse moves away.
  
• The buttons automatically fade on undocked windows but remain slightly visible so we know where they are.
  
• The buttons do not fade on the main window, just like before the patch.
  
• The classic chat style in the interface options is automatically enabled. The IM chat style is not used because the box where you type is always visible and even more annoying.

SLASH COMMANDS:

• There are no commands to run. It works when installed and player enters the game.
  
• If installed successfully, see a message in the chat window, "ChatClassicFade loaded", and also see the chat windows fade.

OF NOTE:

• If the background does not fade completely, then manually set the background alpha to the lowest settings. The background alpha is a blizzard option that can be found when clicking on the tab of the chat window (see the image below). Blizzard also usually sets new windows to show a little background by default.

• The actual fading is done by the original blizzard code. All this addon does is set a few options. It also runs only once when login, and does not run while playing the game.

INSTALLATION:

• In Windows XP, extract the ZIP file, to your World of Warcraft interface addons directory, which might look like,
  ...\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ChatClassicFade
  
• Chat style in the blizzard interface options is affected.

UNINSTALL:

• Remove the game folder, .\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ChatClassicFade
  
• Open blizzard interface options and set the chat style option manually.
