Cell_UnitFrame_Continued

Cell_UnitFrame_Continued is a community-maintained continuation fork of the original Cell Unit Frames addon for Cell.

This fork exists because the original project is no longer being updated. Its goal is to keep the addon working on modern Retail builds (including Midnight) and current Cell API changes while preserving compatibility for existing users.

⚠️ Important Midnight Compatibility Notice ⚠️ Because the original Cell addon has not yet received an update for the Midnight expansion, this addon will not run with the original base version. For this addon to function correctly, you must use the updated Midnight-compatible fork of Cell found here: https://github.com/skyking-dev/Cell

What It Adds

Cell_UnitFrame_Continued adds standalone player-oriented unit frames on top of Cell, including:

  • Player
  • Target
  • TargetTarget
  • Focus
  • Pet
  • Boss

The widget system is separate from base Cell indicators, so it does not mirror every native Cell indicator one-to-one.

Dependency

This addon requires Cell. Specifically, it requires the Midnight-compatible fork until the original project is updated: 👉 Download the required Cell fork here

Installation

Install the packaged release so the folder remains:

World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/Cell_UnitFrames

Do not rename the addon folder to Cell_UnitFrame_Continued, or WoW will not load it correctly.

Recent Changes (v1.0.2)

  • Added a dedicated Private Auras widget with layout defaults, menu controls, countdown options, and boss-frame support.
  • Improved Midnight aura processing so secret spell data falls back safely for filtering, dispels, player-source checks, and totem displays.
  • Fixed Midnight health and power bar updates so they no longer call ResetSmoothedValue() on secret min/max data and trigger MathUtil.Clamp errors.
  • Hardened the cast bar against secret startTime, endTime, and empower hold values by falling back to duration objects whenever Lua time arithmetic is unsafe.
  • Added /cuf midnight diagnostics to help verify Midnight restriction and private-aura API state in-game.
  • Tested this release against https://github.com/skyking-dev/Cell and confirmed normal operation.
