What is BlitzStrat?
BlitzStrat turns the pre-game minutes of every Rated Battleground and Battleground Blitz into a real tactical briefing. Instead of typing a wall of text in /i chat, you drag class tokens onto the actual map of the battleground, share your plan with your team in one click, and let everyone vote on which strategy to run.
If you've ever wished a BG leader could just show you who goes where instead of hoping everyone read the wall of text, this is the addon for that.

Visual strategy board
- Drag-and-drop class tokens onto real BG maps with real node positions
- Supports 9 battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch, Twin Peaks, Arathi Basin, Battle for Gilneas, Deepwind Gorge, Eye of the Storm, Temple of Kotmogu, Silvershard Mines, and Deephaul Ravine
- Faction-aware positioning for flag carrier / defender nodes
- Automatic map detection when you enter a BG
Smart team scanning
- Auto-detects every teammate's class, spec, and role
- Spec badges on every token: green "+" for healers, shield for tanks, spec icon for DPS
- Keeps inspecting in the background for teammates who start out of range
- Class-colored tokens with player names
Share with one click
- "Send Strategy" broadcasts your plan to every teammate running BlitzStrat
- Multiple plans can coexist; click any teammate's name in the sidebar to view theirs
- "Post to Chat" translates the visual plan into clean /i chat text for teammates who don't have the addon, e.g.
Flag Defence -> Holy Joeyx, Ret Dolly
Built-in voting
- A timed vote window opens automatically alongside the gate countdown
- Vote for whichever plan you want to run, and the majority winner gets a cyan highlight
- Everyone sees the live tally
Quality of life
- Minimap button with a live count of how many strategies have been submitted
- Session persistence, so /reload or disconnect mid-match and your strategies are still there
- Name handling for cross-realm, connected-realm, Cyrillic, and accented Latin characters
- Edit-and-resend: clicking Send Strategy after already sending re-opens your previous plan for tweaks instead of forcing a restart
How to use
- Queue for a Rated BG or Battleground Blitz
- Once inside, click the minimap button (or type
/strat) to open the board - Click Send Strategy to open the compose window
- Drag teammates from the "Your Team" tray onto nodes, then click Send Strategy
- Watch the sidebar for other plans, vote for your favorite, and call out the winner in chat with Post to Chat

Known limitations
Some teammates may occasionally show up with a class icon but no spec badge. This happens because WoW's inspect API only works within ~50 yards, so teammates who are far away when you open the planner may show as "unknown spec" until they come closer. The addon keeps trying automatically for the entire match, and specs fill in as players cluster up. Typically resolves within the first minute of any match.
