Bawrspam is a chat-spam firewall from the author of Homestead and Triage. BawrSpam blocks gold sellers, boost ads, casino and phishing links, and other spam across public channels, whispers, and Group Finder and logs everything it catches so you can review, search, and restore any message with one click.
It scans spam messages against our hand-tuned pattern library instead of matching a fixed blacklist, so it reads through the junk that spammers rely on and leaves the important stuff alone.
Features
Recoverable history. Every blocked message lands in a History window you can browse, search, sort, and restore from. Catch something real? One click brings it back.
Sees through the disguise. Cyrillic look-alike letters, spaces jammed between characters, swapped digits, ALL CAPS BawrSpam normalizes all of it before scoring, so the costume doesn't help.
Scores instead of guessing. Messages are weighed across categories gold selling, boosting/carries, casino, phishing, and general commercial spam. Weak signals stack; a strong one blocks on its own; borderline chat is left alone.
Covers the right surfaces. Trade and other public channels, whispers, Battle.net whispers, say and yell. Guild, party, raid, and instance chat are never touched.
Cleans up Group Finder. Hides spam listings and spam applicants in LFG, not just chat lines and they're restorable too.
Granular control. Three-state toggles on / pause / off per category and per surface.
Trust and repeat offenders. An allowlist keeps people you trust unfiltered; known repeat offenders get nudged up the scale.
Quality of life. Repeat-spam throttling, optional chat-bubble suppression for blocked say/yell, a minimap button, and a full config panel.
Notes
- Retail only for now.
- Tuned from real, hand-collected spam rather than a shared community blocklist opinionated by design, and the pattern set keeps growing.
- Recoverable on purpose: if you'd prefer an addon that just deletes and forgets, this isn't it.
Inspired by funkydude's BadBoy; built from scratch as original work.
