What's new

## 18.16.80 — Friendly designer and quick controls

- Expand the friendly preview to an element sidebar, existing render canvas, selected-element inspector and simulation controls. Add selection guides, 1×/2×/3× zoom, CC mode buttons, entrance replay, and dragging for manual badge placement and warning height.
- Reuse preview controls and artwork; stop drag updates when the designer closes. Editing uses the same profile keys as live plates.
- Add quick Replace Healer Icon on the landing page. Add a red Developer Settings heading and keep its toggle last. Move CC Cross Overlay to Developer → Experimental Effects; retain Healer Appearance under Appearance.

## 18.16.79 — Friendly preview callback fix

- Fix the landing-page Friendly Preview and CC Preview This Mode buttons calling an out-of-scope helper.
- Fix the CC mode selector refresh callback using the same out-of-scope pattern.

## 18.16.78 — Friendly everyday controls and exclusive CC modes

- Lead Friendly Plates with interaction, size/position, border style, Glass Panel, and preview controls. Collapse Blizzard appearance below the everyday controls.
- Move detailed spec, border, glass, health and LoS controls under Developer → Core Plate Appearance with an explicit warning. Move Lightning under Experimental Effects.
- Present CC Warning (default), Aura Badge, and Replace Spec Icon as exclusive CC display modes, with a shared enable control and mode preview.

## 18.16.77 — Friendly options cleanup and experimental pruning

- Remove aura badge category rings from settings and rendering, and remove composite/star friendly lightning effects and assets. Retain Lightning with its existing saved settings.
- Move Healer Appearance under Friendly Plates → Appearance.
- Apply matching brand-green Effects and Auras labels to both plate types; move Enemy Effects after all other enemy pages.
- Add collapsible detail sections across friendly settings and organize long flat pages into behaviour, appearance, layout, and advanced controls.

## 18.16.76 — Warning slider validation fix

- Validate warning marker scale/offset and ripple sizes/duration with their actual slider ranges instead of the generic 0–1 opacity range.
- Repair clipped values once in affected profiles, identified by an impossible outer size below 2.6. Preserve opacity, colours, and unaffected settings.
- Retain the custom grayscale warning artwork and ripple controls.

## 18.16.75 — Custom grayscale CC warning artwork

- Bundle an original transparent grayscale warning triangle and a 16-frame, 4×4 entrance flipbook with explicit 128×128 frame dimensions.
- Use the same local artwork in the preview and live CC visual, removing Blizzard atlas and warning-file dependencies.
- Tint through preview simulated dispel type and live native dispel color registration; retain all marker and ripple controls.

## 18.16.74 — Reliable held warning icon

- Replace guessed final flipbook-cell cropping with Blizzard’s standard warning icon, rendered independently of flipbook availability.
- Keep native aura-assigned and preview entrance animations when the atlas exists; optional atlas metadata no longer suppresses them.
- Retain ripple appearance and size controls.

## 18.16.73 — Smoother, larger CC ripples

- Replace simultaneous fast additive rings with a slower leading wave and softer, thinner delayed echo on one synchronized timeline. Fade in and out smoothly.
- Add Ripple Start Size, Outer Size, Duration, and Thickness controls. Default outer diameter is 4.5 times the friendly icon width.
- Reuse preview textures and animations when adjusting controls; live visuals still use the native CC source.

## 18.16.72 — Friendly CC warning marker

- Resolve warning artwork directly through SetAtlas instead of requiring an optional atlas filename.
- Play the warning entrance in the friendly CC preview, then hold its final frame. Reuse the animation and stop preview effects on hide.
- Report missing atlas details through /bm badgecheck.

## 18.16.71 — Independent Fire/Lightning aura persistence

- Fix Fire Specific Auras controls being omitted from profile defaults, which caused Fire IDs, aura type, and ownership/target filters to be lost on profile reloads and fall back to legacy Effect Triggers.
- Migrate existing Fire Effect Triggers settings to independent Fire keys once, without overwriting any explicit Fire-specific values.
- Retain separate Fire and Lightning spell-ID lists through save, reload, profile copy, and profile export/import.
- Preserve the v18.16.70 Lightning blend controls and preview memory management.

## 18.16.70 — Lightning blend modes + preview memory fix

- Merge enemy Lightning Normal/Additive blend-mode control and all three friendly Lightning Normal/Additive selectors.
- Preserve legacy friendly Multiply/Raw configuration values while rendering them as Normal.
- Retain v18.16.69 preview memory management: reuse the existing specific-aura Lightning preview host and animation during appearance changes instead of retaining a new animated sibling.
- Preserve existing aura registration, media assets, and other configuration.

## 18.16.69 — Enemy lightning designer memory fix

- Reuse the specific-aura lightning preview host and animation when adjusting appearance. Previously each change retained another preview effect.
- Live native aura-container replacement remains unchanged.

## 18.16.63 — Enemy Fire blend mode

- Adds **Blend Mode: Normal / Add** to Enemy Plates → Effects → Fire. Normal uses WoW texture BLEND (alpha transparency); Add uses additive blending.
- Preserves the existing ADD default for saved profiles. Changes apply to Fire driven by visible aura categories or Effect Triggers, including the enemy preview.
- Preserves the v18.16.62 diagnostic features, shared friendly CC sources and all media assets.

## 18.16.57 — Experimental CC parked-source comparison

- Adds `/bm ccrosterprobe livepark` to prepare roster-owned CC sources with their addon-owned hosts shown but parked entirely offscreen. This is an A/B test for whether hiding the host interrupts Blizzard-native aura updates before its first nameplate attachment.
- Retains `/bm ccrosterprobe on` as the previous hidden-park baseline and `/bm ccrosterprobe off` / `report` for stopping and reviewing the probe.
- Increases experimental relocation limit from 6 to 48 per source so long matches can test repeated recycling without prematurely disabling the experiment.
- No changes to production CC badges, friendly lightning, their native aura registrations, or artwork. Live PvP aura selection and consistent P visibility remain unverified.

## 18.16.52 — Shared CC aura source: friendly lightning (phase 2)

- Migrates Composite Ring, Star Ring, and Lightning Only when set to **Crowd Control** onto the same native `CROWD_CONTROL` aura source used by friendly CC badges.
- Removes per-effect CC AuraContainer registrations and their independent roster prebinding pools; one prepared CC source can drive the badge and all enabled lightning variants.
- Keeps lightning active without CC badge artwork, or for non-healers when CC badges are healer-only. All lightning sizes, tint, blend, depth and offsets remain independently configured.
- Native AuraButton controls CC visibility, including combat-time roster swaps through the existing shared prebound-pool selection. No per-frame aura data reads or protected `SetUnit` calls.
- Existing Always / Defensives / Externals / Immunities lightning trigger paths remain unchanged; CC style changes rebuild only outside protected combat. The CC report now identifies shared lightning consumers.
- This is a PvP test build: Blizzard's native `CROWD_CONTROL` filter still determines which auras are eligible.

## 18.16.51 — Shared friendly aura source: CC badge (phase 1)

- Introduces `Modules/Friendly/FriendlyAuraSources.lua`: manages per-recipient native aura source creation, verified prebound selection, safe rebinding outside combat, suspension, pool limits and obsolete source retirement.
- Registers the healer CC badge as the first visual consumer of the shared `CROWD_CONTROL` source. The native filter remains `HARMFUL|CROWD_CONTROL|INCLUDE_NAME_PLATE_ONLY`; Blizzard still owns aura selection, icon and duration.
- Separates CC badge artwork from source management without changing its settings, healer cross, or associated spell art.
- Retires unused native CC source registrations on an explicit CC badge disable and after out-of-combat style replacements, instead of leaving hidden containers scanning indefinitely.
- Existing lightning effects deliberately remain separate pending successful PvP validation of the badge. Aura display limitations imposed by Blizzard's filtering remain unchanged.

## 18.16.47 — Healer CC combat diagnostics

- `/bm ccreport` now retains and prints the most recent in-combat CC binding failures separately, so normal out-of-combat nameplate refreshes cannot displace important evidence.
- Adds safe snapshots of BattleMender-owned binding state (existing container, suspended binding, bound roster token, and badge host visibility). Does not inspect Blizzard-managed or restricted aura buttons.
- No changes to badge detection, combat restrictions, settings, or healer cross textures. This is a diagnostic-only patch.

## 18.16.45 — Healer CC badge visibility stabilization

- Give the native CC badge controller sole ownership of its host visibility. The frequent friendly-overlay positioning refresh no longer hides an existing badge after a transient protected healer-role or unit-token lookup.
- Preserve an already verified, unsuspended CC binding during short-lived PvP identity read failures without reviving stale/recycled nameplate bindings.
- Use Blizzard's assigned healer role directly on public party/raid tokens as an additional positive healer check.
- Defer CC visual restyling in restricted arenas/BGs without hiding the functioning native badge when class-color/role data fluctuates.
- `/bm badgecheck` reports addon-owned CC host visible/hidden counts; `/bm ccreport` still records binding transitions. The actual aura selection stays Blizzard-owned.
- Keep user-supplied healer-cross artwork and all badge display settings unchanged. In-game PvP validation required.

## 18.16.43 — Healer CC outline

- Optional outline cross over the centered native friendly CC icon (healers only), using the supplied `cross_OVERLAY.tga`.
- Native aura visibility controls the overlay automatically; no protected aura-state inspection.
- Independent pulse opacity, period, size, blend and offset settings under Friendly Plates > Auras > Crowd Control.
- Friendly Preview supports the outline on its simulated CC icon.

## 18.16.42 — Native Off-screen Nameplates / CC UI Cleanup

- Removed preview-only friendly Crowd Control category icon selector. Preview always uses spell art, matching live PvP.
- Added Blizzard Nameplates > Off-screen Plates with native radial edge positioning: Blizzard (leave unchanged), Off, Target Only, All Combat.
- Added native off-screen combat nameplate visibility control: Blizzard (leave unchanged), Show, Hide.
- Persist explicit user selections, restore after login/ElvUI CVar refresh, and defer protected CVar writes until leaving combat.
- No fake focus-only, arena-opponents-only, or directional indicators: native CVar modes do not offer those scopes and secret PvP positions cannot safely drive the custom replacement.

## 18.16.41 - Friendly CC icon on spec portrait

- Optional Crowd Control setting to overlay the native CC spell icon over the friendly spec portrait while the aura button is visible.
- Preserves the class-colored border above the central CC icon; native CC visibility restores the original spec automatically.
- Reuses the roster-bound Blizzard aura container and its PvP binding safety guards; mode changes rebuild out of restricted combat only.
- Friendly Preview support for centered CC art.
- Native CROWD_CONTROL selection can include roots/slows and is not a strict full-loss-of-control-only classifier.

## 18.16.40 – Friendly CC badge binding recovery

- Preserve and resume existing native CC badge bindings only when a friendly nameplate is positively matched to the same party/raid member during combat.
- Avoid permanently suspending a correct binding after a transient restricted unit-token lookup.
- Add `/bm ccreport` to inspect recent badge binding transitions after a match (no aura payload or protected button reads).
- Keep native `CROWD_CONTROL` selection unchanged; spell classification in live PvP still requires testing.

## 18.16.39

- Fixed combat taint/forbidden-object errors from repeatedly calling SetBlendMode, SetSize and other methods on Lightning textures parented to Blizzard-managed friendly AuraButtons.
- Keep aura-triggered ring flipbooks and native visibility bindings untouched during ordinary plate refreshes. Apply their changed settings by replacing the native binding only outside combat; defer changes made in combat until PLAYER_REGEN_ENABLED.
- Preserve live, non-restarting style changes for independent Always-mode rings. Avoid mutating native aura containers in combat during cleanup.
- Preserved the user-supplied transparent Composite and Star Ring TGA atlases byte-for-byte. In-game PvP confirmation is still required.

## 18.16.38

- Fixed friendly Composite and Star Ring flipbooks restarting when repeated nameplate refreshes changed the measured plate size, opacity, class-color tint, blend mode, layer or offsets.
- Preserve each ring's running animation group and native aura binding across visual-only updates. Restyle existing addon-owned texture regions in place without resetting their texture source or flipbook coordinates.
- Apply current style to Blizzard-managed aura buttons initialized after a settings change; retain native PvP aura filtering and rebuild only when the unit/trigger source genuinely changes.
- Included user-updated transparent `FriendlyLightningCircle_30fps.tga` and `FriendlyLightningStar_30fps.tga` byte-for-byte.
- No changes to Enemy Plates or saved profile settings. Live PvP validation is still required, especially around actual unit recycling.

## 18.16.33

- Friendly Plates > Effects > Lightning Ring now follows Enemy Lightning controls: Enable, Trigger Aura Category, Tint, Opacity, Render Layer, Layer Level, Width, Height, and X/Y offsets.
- Added a default-on Keep Circular aspect lock for square ring geometry; unlock it to use independent Height.
- Trigger sources: Always, Defensives, Externals, Immunities, and Crowd Control. The aura-based modes use Blizzard-managed AuraContainer visibility; never inspect PvP-protected aura identities or button visibility in Lua.
- Regenerated the circular flipbook atlas from the existing uploaded source via per-frame starburst suppression; the eight fixed radial glare nodes are substantially reduced while the main electric arcs are preserved. Some moving bright discharge remnants may remain.
- Category-triggered PvP rendering remains unverified in-game. Immunity matching uses a native spell-ID candidate filter and may be restricted in PvP.

## 18.16.31

- Fixed Blizzard Nameplates overlap sliders reverting after /reload: explicitly edited H/V preferences now persist in BattleMender's own profile and are synchronized back into ElvUI's NamePlates settings and Blizzard CVars at login.
- Reapply idempotently after initialization and ElvUI SetCVars, with bounded login retries and combat-safe deferral; settings that were never changed in BattleMender remain ElvUI/Blizzard-owned.
- Added a small "Use ElvUI Values" button to release both BattleMender overrides, and expanded `/bm stackingstatus` with the three configuration sources for diagnostics.
- No other nameplate settings, aura behavior, or DR settings changed.

## 18.16.30

- Added reversible Blizzard arena UI alpha concealment (Off / Auto-hide / Test), located under Enemy Plates > Auras > DR > Source and Compatibility > Arena DR Source.
- Conceals original CompactArenaFrame and arena members without Hide(), event unregistration, reparenting, or changes to the native DR tray, preserving the existing nameplate DR mirror input.
- Also conceals each member's independent CcRemoverFrame (Blizzard PvP trinket indicator), which parent-only alpha changes can leave visible.
- Saves and restores each frame's original alpha, avoids protected frame changes during combat, restores the frames outside arena or on Off, and reconciles late-created frames out of combat.
- Auto-hide defaults Off. PvP mirroring and native frame clickable regions require an in-game test.

## 18.16.29

- Fixed Enemy Plates options failing AceConfig validation on opening: removed an internal `compactKeep` field from the tri-state filter legend and preserved its visibility by key instead.
- No settings, defaults, aura renderers, stack-text handling, or combat behavior changed.

## 18.16.28

- Added Personal aura Stack Text controls (show, font, size, outline, color, anchor, X/Y offsets) under Enemy Plates > Auras > Personal > Style.
- Stack counts are now registered with Blizzard AuraButton:SetApplicationCount in the managed PvP renderer. Native aura data remains protected and is not interpreted by addon Lua.
- Manual/Designer previews share the new Personal stack style, defaulting to the previous bottom-right white stack display. Other aura categories remain unchanged.

## 18.16.27

- Condensed Enemy Plates options: shorter labels, slimmer control widths, shorter collapsible headings, and fewer inline explanation rows.
- Retained essential context as tooltips, including DR source limitations, invisible Spell ID matching restrictions, and Kick Tracker inference.
- Kept concise tri-state filter color legends, spell-ID summaries, and provider/DR live statuses visible. No saved settings or combat code changed.

## 18.16.26

- Added **Effect Triggers**, an invisible Blizzard-managed enemy aura source under Enemy Plates > Effects. It matches configurable exact aura Spell IDs without adding a visible icon, independently of the Personal aura row.
- Default example is Havoc (80240), harmful, applied by the player; IDs, aura type, source and target-only mode can be changed.
- Fire can now use **Effect Triggers (invisible)** as its trigger category, including a synthetic Fire preview in Enemy Designer. The flipbook follows native aura-button visibility, avoiding direct reads of secret PvP aura state.
- An empty ID list matches nothing; if a native candidate-filter update errors, the hidden proxy stays off instead of widening the match. In-game PvP testing is required to confirm Havoc remains matchable in the restricted client.

## 18.16.25

- Fixed Lightning's render-depth controls: native aura buttons stay on their normal icon layer, while a separate AuraContainer VFX proxy places the lightning flipbook below the health bar for Background/Border or above the bar for Artwork/Overlay. Texture sublevel still applies inside the selected layer.
- Updated the Enemy Designer lightning preview to use the same frame-depth behavior as the live enemy plate.
- Added a blue bottom-only U-shaped defensive target indicator driven by Blizzard's native Big Defensive and External Defensive aura filters. This avoids reading secret combat aura data; the regular target glow remains independent because the protected native aura state cannot safely recolor/hide it.
- Added Enemy Plates > Target controls for enabling and coloring the defensive glow, with a synthetic sample in Enemy Designer.
- Preserved Priest/Paladin healer artwork from 18.16.24.

## 18.16.22

- Added Render Layer and Layer Level controls to Enemy Plates > Effects > Lightning and Fire so each flipbook can be raised or lowered within the nameplate frame without changing the nameplate frame strata.

## 18.16.19

- Options presentation: inline groups and collapsible headers now use low-opacity, Designer-style section fills with clearer borders/accent lines instead of opaque stacked boxes.
- Enemy aura categories now expose a Countdown Text toggle for Defensives, Crowd Control, Personal, Purge, and Danger. Countdown rendering stays on Blizzard Cooldown/DurationObject paths for restricted PvP safety.
- Friendly aura categories now expose Countdown Text for Objectives, Defensives, Externals, Immunities, and Crowd Control, with matching Friendly Preview support.

## 18.16.18

- Enemy Designer navigation is now bidirectional: selecting a matching Enemy Plates settings page selects the same Designer element while the Designer is open.
- Designer preview visibility now starts from the actual enabled/disabled Enemy Plates settings; disabled elements such as Purge open hidden but can be temporarily shown for layout work.
- Purge > Detection & Filtering is reduced to Current Target Only, Dispellable by Me, and Dispellable by Your Group.
- Removed the Designer Smart control.
- Replaced the per-feature animation dropdown with a single Preview button that animates the transient elements currently shown in the Designer.
- Preview cast behavior now uses a representative cycle: a 2.5 second cast, a 1.5 second no-cast gap, then a new cast. The cast bar fill updates during the cast and fully disappears during the gap so Adaptive Anchoring can be previewed.
- Aura preview cycles now include a short empty phase so adaptive layout behavior can be inspected when aura containers disappear.

## 18.16.17
- Added configurable border colour + opacity to Enemy Defensives, Crowd Control, and Danger DR-style borders.
- Category defaults are Defensives blue, Crowd Control green, and Danger orange.
- Registered the DR-style border settings in profile defaults so style, offset, contrast, and colour persist across reloads/profile copies.

## 18.16.16
- Fixed an Enemy Designer preview bug where a recycled circular aura border could briefly inherit stale canvas-sized geometry and render as a huge black ring.
- Synthetic aura buttons are now sized before border/cooldown decoration, and circular border sizing uses the explicit current aura-layout dimensions.

## 18.16.15
- Replaced the Enemy Designer's fixed Compact/Stacked/Aura Heavy/Cast Focused presets with a simple Default + named-layout system.
- Save Layout now prompts for a name and stores geometry/anchor layouts account-wide so they are available to every character; saving an existing name replaces it.
- Added Remove Layout with confirmation. Default is built in and cannot be removed.
- Named layouts deliberately preserve each profile's aura filters, spell IDs, colours and borders; only Designer geometry/anchoring is shared.

## 18.16.14
- Added Personal as a selectable Enemy Plates > Effects > Flare trigger category.

## 18.16.13
- Enemy Defensives, Crowd Control, and Danger now expose DR-style border controls in Appearance: Enemy Plate Default, None, Thin, Standard, Thick, High Contrast, Plastic, and Metal.
- Straight aura borders also gain DR-style Edge Offset and Dark Border Outline controls; circular rendering reuses the calibrated DR ring textures and fit. Existing profiles remain on Enemy Plate Default until changed.

## 18.16.12
- Restyled the standalone options menu with a consistent text hierarchy, compact control fonts, quieter navigation text, and unified label sizing across sliders, dropdowns, checkboxes, color pickers, edit boxes, and buttons.
- Added clearer section chrome: subtle dark section backgrounds, restrained borders, title strips, and BattleMender-green accent marks for inline groups and collapsible section headers.
- Refined the navigation/content panel backgrounds and hover treatment so the options tree and active settings area are easier to distinguish.
- Standardized several inconsistent option labels to title case, including Aura/DR and kick-timer controls.

## 18.16.11
- Fixed Personal/Purge collapsible Appearance and Positioning content rendering above its section header.
- Moved enemy Aura Flare settings from Danger/Auras into Enemy Plates > Effects.
- Removed the Text / Indicators navigation page and moved Name Text, Portrait, NPC Indicators, and PvP Indicators onto the base Enemy Plates page.

## 18.16.10

- Fixed an AceConfig validation error caused by internal collapsible-section metadata being attached directly to an options group.
- Removed decorative icons from inline Aura page sections; Aura navigation icons remain available in the tree.
- Expanded Mouseover Range Auto into class/spec-aware friendly-target spell candidates, including Warrior Intervene and Warlock Unending Breath, with a class fallback when the preferred spec spell is unavailable.
- Mouseover Range settings now show the resolved Auto spell and the candidate spells considered for the current class/spec.

## 18.16.9

- Extended the compact +/- collapsible section headers across every immediate Enemy and Friendly Auras sub-category.
- Enemy Defensives, Crowd Control, Danger and DR now use collapsible visibility/filter/appearance/positioning sections alongside Personal and Purge.
- Friendly Objectives, Defensives, Externals, Immunities and Crowd Control now use consistent collapsible Enable & Visibility, Appearance, Positioning, and effects sections where applicable.
- Removed stray icon-only rows that could appear above expanded collapsible sections.

## 18.16.8

- Replaced unsupported Unicode disclosure triangles with font-safe +/- markers so collapsible section headers render correctly with BattleMender's options font.

## 18.16.7
- Reworked the Personal and Purge option pages into collapsible sections for Enable & Visibility, Detection & Filtering, Spell ID Overrides, Appearance, and Positioning.
- Personal filtering is now focused on its actual job: Current Target Only, a locked-on player-source rule, and Crowd Control, which now defaults to the red/exclude state.
- Spell ID Overrides now use compact one-ID entry controls with Add/Remove actions and matched-spell summaries alongside them instead of large multiline text boxes.
- Standardized Personal/Purge Appearance into a three-column grid and aligned checkbox, slider, dropdown, and color-picker label sizing. Size, Per Row, Rows, Spacing, and Alignment now live under Appearance.
- Renamed Advanced Positioning to Positioning and limited its restore action to attachment geometry rather than resetting appearance/grid settings.

## 18.16.6
- Fixed circular Personal/Purge borders so increasing border thickness changes ring weight without creating a gap around the icon. Circular aura borders now reuse the calibrated DR ring fit and BattleMender ring textures.
- Renamed the single Health alternate-target option to Adaptive Anchoring throughout the settings and Designer. The Designer toggle and main-menu toggle are the same setting.
