Description
Star Control – CustomisationPlus is a controller-focused Stardew Valley mod that adds customisable radial menus, quick actions, and a small-screen-friendly config UI. This is a quality‑of‑life fork of the original Star Control mod, built for players who want finer control over how radial menus look and behave. CustomisationPlus allows for better Star Control usability on smaller screens like the Steam Deck, but also adds many customisation features suitable for any screen size.
Note: StardewUI is required for this mod to work. Generic Mod Config Menu (GMCM) is recommended, but not required.
Key features in this mod
- Radial menu layout controls: size, position (vertical & horizontal), and a preview layout that can be seen on smaller screens.
- Item label and description options: toggle visibility and scale text size.
- Quick action menus: toggle visibility and adjust size independently.
- Config menu improvements: fits comfortably on smaller resolutions with scrollable pages.
- HUD behavior: only the vanilla toolbar hides while health, stamina, time, and money remain visible.
- Fixes the slingshot quick action assignment (including Swords & Sorcery bows).
- Controller QoL: improved right‑stick scrolling across all config tabs; cursor no longer pops in/out on wheel open/close.
- Gives the player radial wheel pages for other mods such as Sword & Sorcery, to enable easy access to modded controls with a controller (i.e. S&S Adventure Bar).
- Instant actions: holding the button now repeats tool use.

Installation

Star Control - CustomisationPlus works out of the box, though many of its more powerful features require additional setup. These steps will get you up and running; afterward, head on over to the configuration pages to learn how to customize.
Installation steps:
- Install SMAPI and set up your game for mods, per the Modding: Player's Guide instructions.
- Download and install Stardew UI.
- Download the main file from the Files tab.
- Open the .zip file and extract the StarControl folder into your Stardew Valley\Mods folder. You can also use a mod manager such as Stardrop.
- Launch the game and load a save.
Basic controls once the mod is installed (all can be customized):
- Hold
to open the Inventory Pie Menu,
- Hold
to open the Mod Actions menu, which initially will only have one item, the Star Control Settings.
- With either menu open, use
to focus an item. The game is paused during selection (except in co-op/multiplayer).
- When an item is focused (highlighted), press
to use it or
to select (hold) it.
- If a menu has multiple pages, use
and
to navigate while the menu is open. - Press
during gameplay to open the Instant Actions menu and set single-button actions.
