1.1 Update:
-Adds left control on/off toggle with upper left tiny visual and sound effect. This greatly helps with rotating smaller objects.
-Configurable in all game languages by GMCM
1.2 Update:
-Adds undo button (defaults to middle mouse, configurable) which greatly speeds up decorating by putting things directly back into your hand after trial placements.

Toggle on and off with Left Control

This mod works on vanilla and modded placeables. All placeable objects can now be placed:
-Inside Pelican town/Custom area shops and homes.
-Outside in the town.
-Interior only items can now be placed outside, on your farm or elsewhere.
-Extends range of placement. Use right click to pick up the item. (Prevents accidental moving with left click.)
-Generic Mod Config Menu support for range/behaviors.
-Allows layering/overlap of items which is useful for mod items or sticking things on/right behind trees.

Additionally this mod:
-Allows NPCs to pass through your placed decor unhindered.
-Hides decor during festivals, and returns them after. [Tell me if one doesn't do this.]
-Doesn't interfere with function of items, such as the catalogue, seating, etc.

Usage note:
While you can still place 'forbidden' items like windows at a distance, the preview footprint is red. Just left click to place anyway, and right click to remove. :)
