Description
YOU STILL NEED PIED PIPER’S ORIGINAL MOD. Download it from their Patreon (it’s public access), extract the ZIP and place the folder directly in your Mods folder. Then delete the original .ts4script file and replace it with mine. Make sure script mods are enabled in your game settings.
A recent game patch broke a lot of older mods — including one of my long‑time favourites, Pied Piper’s Functional Loom, which I’ve used for years in my medieval save. Since Pied Piper hasn’t updated their Patreon in months, it looked like the mod might stay broken for good. But what is a medieval world without a loom?
So I decided to take a closer look at the script. The original mod included access to an in‑game online platform called Simzon, accessible through the phone. This is exactly where EA changed the game logic, and where the mod started to crash. I removed that outdated part of the code for now. If you own Nifty Knitting, you can still sell your woven items on Plopsy without any issue. (Note: You don't need Nifty Knitting for the mod or this fix to work)
The rest of the script only handled ingredient tags and ingredient tag display mapping, which I cleaned up and restructured a bit.
That’s all this fix does. The mod is still entirely Pied Piper’s amazing work — all credit goes to them. I’m simply sharing this patch so others who love the loom as much as I do can keep using it.
Some of the weavable items — especially a few carpets — are still broken. For now, I focused on fixing the critical script error so the loom itself would be functional again as quickly as possible.
The remaining issues will require a bit more digging, and I may look into them in the future. I’m still quite new to modding, so I can’t promise anything yet, but I’ll do my best. Please be gentle with me.
