Description
I was pretty happy to have robots in my Sims 4 game. Of course the way they made it - with an outfit automatically assigned to a robot - makes a bulk of my own CC totally useless. And it makes robots in the Sims4 all samey. Can't have that! I have made several different flavored mods in order to deal with the problem.
This now requires the XML Injector. The traits can now be found in the Rewards Store for $0. The walkstyle, voice, and VFX traits require you to be a Servo to work. Or just use cheats as described below.
The Cloned trait
This is a clone of the robot trait and a whole bunch of XML edits to make it work like official robots do in the Sims4. Also, I've removed every single blacklist and opened it up to all ages, cats, and dogs! This is for people who want to control what their robots look like, but also don't really want the official Servos changed.
Use cheats to apply.
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Gauntlet101010
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_EnhancementLevel_1
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Gauntlet101010
By default the walkstyle, voice, and idle animation aren't applied. Use cheats to apply them:
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Idles_Gauntlet101010 - Servo robot idles
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Walkstyle_Gauntlet101010 - the Sevo walkstyle
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Voice_Gauntlet101010 - the Servo voice
The clones trait does have a couple of minor differences from the edited version. Mainly that the game doesn't recognise it as a real Servo - because it isn't! I also won't go through every sleep interaction to make it work for recharing your cloned trait Servo - there's too many and they're very likely to break anyway. They can still charge while standing. Good enough says I!
The Edited trait
This is an edit of the default Servo trait whose main purpose is to let you alter their outfit in CAS. The downside is that this may glitch up if there's a CAS update. I've also unlocked the "change outfit" option for them. As with the cloned trait I've removed all blacklists and opened it up to all ages, cats, and dogs. Fun! I've also removed the ability to quickly change into the various default Servos for, I hope, obvious reasons.
This will conflict with the Cloned trait.
For gameplay reasons I ran into a wall removing the default Servo look. If I edit this newly created Servos will simply look like regular Sims. So use these cheats to remove the current outfit:
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_BlueRed - the default
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_BlackBlue
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_RedGreen
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_BeigeWhite
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_WhiteCopper
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_GreenBrown
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robot_Outfit_GrayBrown
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_VFX_Gauntlet101010 - by default I have Servos retain their visual effects
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Idles_Gauntlet101010 - new Servos have their Idle animations set as a separate trait
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Walkstyle_Gauntlet101010 - new Servos have their walkstyle set as a separate trait
traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Voice_Gauntlet101010 - new Servos have their voice set as a separate trait
Or you can just buy the Servo trait from the store and apply it to any old Sim you want. Does it make Servos a bit less special? Maybe. But I think it's worth it to keep things self contained and intuitive.
If you want VFX, the voice, Idles, and walkstyle added to your Servo outfit (I've unlocked the default Sims4 version in CAS) you can do so with this cheat:
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_VFX_Gauntlet101010
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_MainTrait - the cheat to turn Sims into Servos.
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Idles_Gauntlet101010 - Servo robot idles
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Walkstyle_Gauntlet101010 - the Sevo walkstyle
traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_Voice_Gauntlet101010 - the Servo voice
Or buy them from the reward store
Known issues:
- Servos were never meant to be children, toddlers, dogs, or cats, so they'll stretch when in the stasis pose. It's the price we pay for robot kids.
- Toddlers and animals can be buggy gameplay-wise. But they will go into recharge mode on their own. Bed tuning seems to be updated often, so I won't be adding this into my mod.
- I recommend using direct control for your robot animals. Their pet beds will recharge their needs almost instantly when directed to sleep!
- Infants aren't meant to be robots, but if you insist their needs can be similarily restored by sleeping as well. Tuning them up will always fail and trying to get them to recharge will also fail. They'll just glitch up. They need to be put to sleep in a crib.
Use my Unlocked Servo Outfit to change into the default options.
The Slightly Edited trait
This is spun out of my Hybrid mod. The only changes are removed blacklists that prevented hybrid robots and allowed ages opened up to elders, adults, and teens. This is meant to be used in conjunction with the Cloned trait and will not conflict with that. This is if you just want to make a hybrid Servo and want them unchanged otherwise. It will not conflict with the cloned trait (that's the point of the cloned trait). It WILL conflict with the edited trait.
Motive Locks
Tuning up and charging makes some robots look all messed up - cats, dog, children, and toddlers don't really charge properly. And it gets tedious. So what do you do if you want that? And what if you want a mermaid robot or a Plantsim robot? Kinda mutually exclusive, even if it's technically allowed. That's where the motive lock comes in. It allows motives to increase, but stops them from decreasing. So there's no worries about swimming. And, whle they can get in the red I've removed all negative buffs so no dying or even getting tense. So it's less of a lock and more breaks the motive completely by removing negative consequences.
Due to the sheer size of the mod I can't test everything completely. So if anything's broken let me know! I appreciate the feedback.
