This mod aims to expand the mood system, allowing Sims to be influenced by any visible (i.e. extreme) moods of those around them.

What This Mod Does

Dynamic Moodlets

  • Sims now gain moodlets based on nearby Sims' extreme moods, such as Very Angry/Furious or Very Sad/Depressed. Sims aren't the only ones impacted, however. Cats, dogs, foxes, and horses are impacted too!

Trait-based Reactions

  • The moodlet a Sim receives is influenced by factors such as their relationship with the moody Sim, personality traits, age, and even their skills! For pets, the factors the mod considers are their relationship to the moody Sim, their personality traits, and their species.

100+ Unique Moodlets to Experience

  • The mod adds over 100 new moodlets that cover a broad range of reactions and Sims. All moodlets are spell-checked, maxis-match, and translated across the 18 supported languages. If there are any translations that you feel could be improved, don't hesitate to reach out!

Balanced for Gameplay

  • All moodlets are balanced in accordance with typical EA moodlets. Multiple extreme moods can affect a Sim simultaneously, but moodlets from the same extreme mood will not stack. For instance, two Very Angry Sims in a room won't double the tension (or amusement) a Happy Sim experiences.

The Three Types of Moodlets a Sim Can Receive

Proximity-Based

  • These moodlets are only active when Sims share the same room or are in close proximity to one another.

Lingering Proximity-Based

  • These moodlets remain active for up to one Sim hour after either the emotionally charged Sim calms down or the two Sims no longer share the same room.

Chance-Based

  • These moodlets are dependent on chance. Some traits like Self-Absorbed or Oblivious (Kuttoe), as well as a Sim's own extreme mood may decrease the chance that they even react. The longer a Sim stays near an emotionally charged Sim, the higher the chance of them acquiring a moodlet. Once acquired, the Sim will be locked out of receiving similar moodlets for a few in-game hours.

Only Extreme Moods?

  • There are exceptions, but for the most part, Sims will only feel pressure from the following moods: Very Angry, Enraged, Very Confident, Very Embarrassed, Mortified, Very Energized, Very Flirty, Very Focused, Very Happy, Very Inspired, Very Playful, Hysterical, Very Sad, Terrified, Very Tense, Very Uncomfortable.
  • This is in keeping with the spirit of the mod, that the mood is visible enough for others to react to. Also, adding the broadcasters this mod runs on to every mood would most likely hinder the game's performance.
  • Asleep exception: If your Sim is awake around a sleeping Sim, there’s a chance they'll pick up a “bored” buff. There's also a chance that any nearby pets may get the zoomies, depending on the time of day.
  • Flirty exception: When a Flirty Sim focuses their attention on another Sim, that Sim's reaction will vary depending on their attraction level (requires Lovestruck). Also, Unflirty Sims and children may feel tense around such displays.

Compatibility

  • This mod does not directly overwrite any files so it won't conflict with other mods.
  • This mod is base game compatible.
  • This mod pairs well with roBukry's Meaningul Stories mod.
  • This mod is compatible with Lumpinou's Mood Pack mod and fully integrates their custom moods.
