This recipe uses my Chinese-style dining flow:
- Single-serve → plated as a true for-one portion.
- Multi-serve → a shared main dish on the table; Sims take individual bowls of rice from it (instead of cloning a single-serve plate).

Overview
Mapo Tofu is a classic from Sichuan, China, celebrated for its balance of numbing and spicy heat. Silky tofu is cooked with minced pork, doubanjiang (fermented broad bean paste), garlic, ginger, and Sichuan pepper, yielding a glossy, aromatic sauce with layered flavors. Rich yet clean on the finish, it pairs beautifully with steamed rice, showcasing the bold, nuanced character of Chinese Sichuan cuisine.
