The Category Possibilities

Invite Sims by category / groups.
Want a Vampire party? Got you covered. What about filling the park with all your Sim’s cousins? Or an Elder gathering? Or…. A party for only vampires who are Elders and also your cousin?!
–> You can use “preset” categories or “free choice” categories or both
PRE-SETS: The prebuilt presets offer you ready-to-go categories.

FREE-CHOICE: You can ALSO create a group based on relationships your Sim has, based on traits or careers the guests should have, or based on a set of ages or species the guests should have.

The Event

Starting the event

Once you’ve selected your categories, the Group Invite is ready to start. Here you have two options:

Directly start the event on the current lot with the Sims fitting the chosen group / category(ies)
OR prune the guest list further and / or choose another lot for the event by triggering an event UI

In either case, you’ll have a Group Invite started.

Once the invite is validated and started, the guests will come to your Sim little by little. For big groups, guests won’t arrive all at once but staggered – (this because if I make them all be there at once, the game is overwhelmed and can’t process their autonomy).

During the event: autonomy, goals, outfits, etc

No goals! This is versatile, you can use it for whatever gathering type you want. For the same reason, guest autonomy is generic.

Ending the event

If you do nothing to end it, the invite can last 24 sim hours. Some guests might leave anytime, especially if you opted for the ‘no ui’ version of the event.

You can end the group invite at any point by clicking on the interaction for that, which becomes available on the front page of your Sim’s pie menu when a group invite is active.

USAGE EXAMPLES

To help you design your own invites, some process examples (click to show):

I want to invite my Sim’s biological family members:
- –> Super easy, I use “Invite Sims by Category” and click “Family Members (Incl. Disliked)”, that’s it!
I want to invite all my Sim’s co-workers and also celebrities for a Convention event:
- –> I use “Invite Sims Fitting Category OR category”. First I click “Co-workers”. The coworkers are thus added! Now I click “Famous Sims”, thus adding them, and validate the category selections.
I want to invite cats, dogs, and humans who like cats and dogs for a pet café event:
- –> I use “Invite Sims Fitting Category OR category”. First I click “Sims with Traits”, select “Dog Lover” and “Cat Lover” then validate the trait window: the humans are thus added! Now I click “Sims of Species” and choose “Cat” and “Dog” then validate the species window. That’s it, I validate the category selections.
- –> Another method is to use “Invite Sims by Category” and do everything in one “Sims with Traits” window. Selecting the hidden trait for cat species, dog species, as well as the personality “Cat Lover” and “Dog Lover”. This will have the same result as the method above!
I want to invite Vampires who are also Young Adult or Adult:
- –> I use “Invite Sims Fitting Category AND category”. First I click “Sims of Occult Type” and select “vampire” and validate the window. Then I click “Sims of Ages” and select “Young adult” and “adult”. Done! I validate category selections
