Choose from 30 functional businesses: Bakery, Coffee Shop, Diner, Fairy Cafe, Farm Stand, Fast Food Restaurant, Flower Shop, Grocery Store, Hotel, Paint & Sip, Pet Store, Pizzeria, Stylist, and more.
This register features 100+ new base game shopping choices like candy, ice cream, donuts, and bubble tea.
Use on public or residential lots. Have a juice bar at the gym or a snack stand at the pool. Live above a cozy cafe, or open a home bakery and earn income.
Sims with the included Instant Biz Employee career can appear at any register. Uniforms can be customized to give each business a unique look.
Setup
Find the register in Build Mode under Computers. Place on a counter or table with at least one square behind (for the employee) and two squares in front (for customers).
To keep customers out of your work area, place the Instant Business Staff Decal (Rugs) behind the counter.
Click on the register in Live Mode to open and manage a business. You can play as any Sim for this step. All settings will stay until you reset them.
The register will be staffed from 8am - midnight.
You must allow Guests on residential lots in order to be automatically greeted (walls down) when visiting as another household. Be sure to lock any doors you want to keep guests out of.
You can play on a lot for 5 in-game days until staff and guests leave. This will automatically restart whenever you return to the lot.
It is not recommended to have more than about 4 registers per lot, since there can only be 20 Sims at a time. This just depends on your household size and how many customers you want to see. Avoid setting duplicate businesses; only one of each can be staffed per lot.
Purchases
Click on the register or the cashier to make a purchase. Most items will go to your Sim inventory. Some non-food items will go to the household inventory in Build Mode.
Uniforms
Uniform changes will not show up while an employee is at the register. Try to set this before opening the business. You can also leave and return to the lot, or just wait for a new employee to spawn at the next shift. Some uniforms cannot be customized (Fairy, Farm, Pets hat, Pizza, Robot, Spooky, and Unicorn).
Home Business
For a simple home business, you can allow Guests and Income on a residential lot. Remember to lock the doors to your living space first. If customers enter your home, reset and try again.
To have your business name show on the world map, name your lot and household after the business. Go to the Manage Worlds screen. Click the lot and open the Info Panel on the bottom left. You can edit the Lot and Household names from here. You can also use the Manage Households menu on the top right.
Special Features
Fairy Cafe
Buy the Magic Gnome to instantly grow all plants on the lot. With the Seasons EP, you can also change seasons and weather.
Hotel
Choose from one or three nights. Check your inventory for the Room Key and Room Service decals. Drag the Room Key in front of your door to keep other guests out. Drag the Room Service decal onto a wall and click to order. Hotel guests will automatically spawn and go to sleep. You can make the lot appear busier by allowing Guests or using a public venue like Lounge.
Paint & Sip
Place several Art Party Easels (buy from Build Mode or the register) on the lot and allow Guests for an automatic painting party.
Pet Store
Buy the Always a Treat Jar for instant pet treats (Cats & Dogs EP).
Stylist
Makeovers last 24 in-game hours and can be removed at any time by clicking on the Sim.
Troubleshooting
Most problems can be fixed with the Reset All button. This will end all situations (employees and guests) created by this mod. You will then have to set up each register from scratch again.
