Food can influence Sims' feelings and relationships based on who cooked it.

Description

This mod is still compatible with Patch 1.123

This mod requires Lot 51 Core Library

Main module is Base Game Compatible, additional module requires Vampires GP

What if food could remember?

What if every dish held a trace of the Sim who made it: their warmth, their love, or their bitterness...?

In Flavored Memories, food can influence Sims' feelings and relationships depending on who made it.

Food Becomes Memory

When a Sim eats something cooked by another Sim, they begin to develop a Food Appreciation Memory toward the cooking Sim.

These memories appear as relationship bits on the Sim Profile: from Traumatized by [Sim]’s Cooking to Obsessed with [Sim]’s Cooking, with seven levels in between.

Just like friendship and romance, it takes time and many meals for the food appreciation memory to build up, so be patient!

Bad food isn't always bad... and good food isn’t always good.

Sure, badly made food can hurt Food Appreciation.

But a terrible meal cooked by someone you love might make you laugh, while perfect food from a distant parent might leave you feeling oddly embarrassed...

When feelings around food become strong enough, they have real effects. They can drain or restore energy, amplify or soften moods, and influence friendship, romantic satisfaction, and sentiments.

Food becomes part of how Sims feel about each other.

When memories turn into nostalgia...

When a Sim becomes Obsessed with someone’s Cooking, they will begin to feel nostalgic if they haven't tasted it for three days.

They'll think of that Sim the next time they eat something good (or bad).

Deceased Sims that haven't been released to the netherworld are more likely to surface in memories... If they're a parent or grandparent, their name will be replaced.

Eating anything cooked by that Sim again will refresh nostalgia. Nostalgia has a cooldown of one Sim day.

Memory Based Interactions:

Sims can use Compliment Cooking Skill, Insult Cooking Skill, or Say You Miss [Sim Name]’s Cooking based on their food appreciation memories and nostalgia level.

Vampires suck

Because they suck, they don't form food memories. They form plasma memories though!

Similar to the food memory system, there are five plasma appreciation levels:

Plasma comes in five types:

• Best Plasma (15%)
• Good Plasma (20%)
• OK Plasma (35%)
• Bad Plasma (30%)
• Werewolf Plasma (werewolves)

The result is unique to every vampire–Sim pair... Vampire A might love Sim B’s plasma, while Vampire C might find it 🤮.

After each drink, a notification reveals how the vampire felt about the plasma:

For vampires with the Guilty Drinker perk, only best and werewolf plasma influence Plasma Appreciation Memory.

When Plasma Appreciation reaches its maximum and three days pass without feeding on that Sim, vampires grow nostalgic. You’ll receive a notification, but they won’t reminisce while drinking from others.

DOKUSASORI (毒サソリ) — Poison Scorpion

Dokusasori is a reward trait available for teen and above. Food cooked by this Sim becomes Poison Cooking, a vile creation that can traumatize other Sims.

Symptoms:

Unholy Duet

Will make the eating Sim fart and belch uncontrollably for at least two hours. If you use Dangerous Farting, each fart has a 2% chance of making them shart themselves and end the effect early.

Knocking On Bathroom's Door

Will make the Sim's bladder drain rapidly. Vampires, Plant Sims, Servos and Fairies are immune to this effect.

Victims lose huge Food Appreciation, friendship, romance and romance satisfaction points with the Dokusasori, and gain a special long-term negative sentiment. This affects their eating autonomy when the dokusasori Sim is nearby.

Dokusasori can choose to protect another Sim from Poison Cooking, allowing them to eat safely and form normal food memories. Servos, other Dokusasori's, toddlers and below are always immune to Poison Cooking.

Dokusasori has a self-interaction called Senshi Doku Bankou (千紫毒万紅), which turns all nearby food into Poison Cooking (but will not affect memories if it's cooked by others).

This interaction can trigger autonomously when they are enraged and lack the Emotional Control trait.

Important Things:

Good Food, Bad Food, or OK Food?

Food is sorted into five tiers: Best, Good, OK, Bad, and Worst, based on food quality, traits, and perks. For example, foodies and snobs may not like normal quality food, while gluttons may not mind poor quality food but likely don't know to appreciate masterwork quality food either.

You can tell that by the thought bubbles Sims have after eating (No thought bubbles for OK food):

Ok food produces no moodlets and has minimal impact on food appreciation memories.

Good, Neutral, or Bad Relationship?

Before each meal, the game evaluates the relationship between eater and cook as Good, Neutral, or Bad using friendship, romance, sentiments, and relationship tropes.

There's no guarantee high friendship/romance points equals good relationship. Sometimes they fall into the neutral relationship or even bad, if there's negative sentiments and strained family/romance tropes. But a very high relationship level will prevent it from being recognized as bad. Generally, for romantic partners this means both friendship and romance need to be >=80 or romance alone >=85, and for family members, friendship needs to be >=80.

Neutral relationship produces no moodlets but will influence food appreciation memories as usual.

Moodlets:

Moodlets are given based on the following relationship types, plus relationship level and food quality:

  • Romantic Partners (boyfriend/girlfriend, promised, engaged, married)
  • Family Members (except married couples which are treated as romantic partners)
  • EX Romantic Partners (broken up, divorced)
  • Friends

Not every combination of relationship type, relationship level, and food quality will produce a moodlet. For example, good or best-quality food cooked by a romantic partner with a low relationship level won’t give your Sim any moodlet.

Neutral relationship level or OK food quality will never give your Sim any moodlet either.

Age Groups:

Only child Sims and above are affected by this mod.

Not All Food Influence Food Appreciation Memories

Certain food won't affect memories:

  • Spoiled food
  • Food made with golden/obsidian eggs
  • Fish for child of the ocean
  • Meat and fish for vegans
  • Lactose for lactose intolerant Sims
  • Spicy food unless spice tolerance is maxed
  • Quick meals

Not Everyone Starts With Memories

A Sim must know the cook and have friendship ≥ 15 or ≤ −15 before Food Appreciation even begins tracking. Only then can food begin to influence their food appreciation memories (regardless of friendship points).

Download Instructions

FlavoredMemories.package (Always Required)

This is the mandatory main file that is always required for this mod to work.

FlavoredMemories_AddOn_LessExcellentQuality.package

This optional add-on makes it harder for food quality to be excellent if the cooking Sim is not in a positive mood.

FlavoredMemories_Vampires.package AND .ts4script

This is the vampire module of this mod that requires the Vampires game pack to function. Package + Script.

FlavoredMemories_Vampires_Whim_DrinkFromSim.package

An optional add-on that makes vampires only want to drink from Sims they know have good plasma, or Sims they haven't tasted yet. This overrides the 0000000000025A48 Xml file and will conflict with other mods that also modify it. (Currently no known conflicting mods)

(NEW!!! Added Apr 26, 2026) FlavoredMemories_Fix.package & ts4script

Adds a few cheats to refresh or delete food/plasma appreciation between two Sims. These can be useful if your Sims’ food/plasma appreciation becomes stuck or reverts to “Have Tasted [Sim]’s Cooking/Plasma.” Even if you haven’t encountered the bug, it’s recommended to run the cheat once as a preventative measure.

You can find these cheats here: Shift Click on Sim -> Flavored Memories

Choose the package/script you want and put them in the same folder, then put that folder directly under your Mods folder. REMOVE all Vampires files if you don't have the Vampires Game Pack!
