Did you know that hidden within the game’s files, every “Very [Emotion]” state originally had its own unique name?
Before release, emotions like Humiliated and Depressed were replaced with the generic “Very Embarrassed” and “Very Sad” we have today. This mod restores all twelve cut emotion names and updates their tooltip descriptions to match the developers’ original intent.
I have had DLPalindrome’s version of this mod installed since it was first released nearly a decade ago, and at this point it feels strange to play without it.
My version expands on that original mod by restoring these unused emotion names across all 18 languages. All strings were pulled directly from the game files.
What’s Changed
All “Very” emotions have been replaced with their original names:
- Very Angry → Furious
- Very Confident → Fearless
- Very Energized → Pumped
- Very Flirty → Passionate
- Very Focused → In the Zone
- Very Happy → Elated
- Very Playful → Silly
- Very Inspired → Imaginative
- Very Tense → Stressed
- Very Uncomfortable → Miserable
- Very Sad → Depressed
- Very Embarrassed → Humiliated
Exceptions & Fixes
In a small number of languages, the original strings had errors. In those cases I've replaced them with accurate translations rather than restore something that was never correct to begin with:
- Russian - Pumped: the original string translated to "muscularity," which is meaningless as an emotion name.
- Russian - Stressed: the original string meant "shocked," not stressed.
- Russian - In the Zone: the original string translated to "bravado," which was clearly a displaced entry.
- Spanish - In the Zone: same issue, the original string was an unrelated word pulled from the wrong place.
- French - Passionate: a minor gender token error in the original was corrected.
Compatibility
This mod will only conflict with other mods that modify the above emotion names or their tooltip descriptions.
This mod was made possible by Sims 4 Studio and Tuning Builder.
