This mod includes objects which, when placed, will attract dogs to use the bathroom nearby instead of just barely outside of the house. There are also three new interactions that allow small pets to be brought in and out of the house more easily.
The first object is called the Puppy Potty Place. It is only visible in build mode and does not cost anything to place down. The other is the "Functional" Fire Hydrant. This is a clone of a fire hydrant object in base game debug given the functionality of this mod. Both objects function exactly the same way; when one is present dogs will prefer to use the bathroom near the object unless they cannot get to it for whatever reason(For example, a puppy may not be able to reach the object because they cannot use stairs). You can even place the objects indoors if you don't want to bother with carrying puppies in and out of the house. If no item is placed or the pet cannot reach it, they'll just use the regular game interactions. Keep in mind that the radius around these objects had to be a few tiles around to allow the dogs to route to them consistently, so they won't necessarily go directly where the object is, just in the general area.
The two interactions to bring pets in and out of the house are available on all cats and dogs that can be carried by sims. Both are under the Pet Care menu, but you'll only see the option to bring inside if the pet is outside and the bring outside option if the pet is indoors. With the Bring Inside interaction, sims will pick up the pet and take them right inside the front door to set them down. The Bring Outside interaction will take them to the front of the lot (typically near the sidewalk where your played sims spawn).
The final interaction is Take to Go Potty, also available under Pet Care for puppies and small dogs. If one of this mod's objects is present, the sim will carry the pet near it and ask them to potty after setting them down. Otherwise, they will route outside in a very similar way to how dogs generally choose where to go.
This mod also overrides the result of the Ask to Go Potty interaction, so the dogs will try to use the interactions from this mod before resorting to the game interactions.
