Ask About Cause of Death – A Ghost Social Mod 👻
This mod adds a new social interaction allowing your Sims to ask ghosts how they died. While some ghost deaths are visually obvious, many aren't — and this gives you a direct, immersive way to find out.
The interaction appears on the ghost’s main pie menu (or under "More Choices" if you use an organized pie menu mod). It only shows up if the ghost has a supported EA death trait — custom content (CC) deaths are not supported at this time.
Pack Compatibility
The mod is split by death types per expansion or game pack.
⚠️ Please only download the versions for packs you own.
- If you own all packs, you can install the merged file.
- Do NOT install both the merged version and individual files, or you’ll get duplicate interactions

Known Issues
- Duplicate Interactions: If a ghost has more than one death trait (this shouldn’t normally happen), you’ll see multiple interactions.
- Conversation Sync: As a newer modder, I built this using XML-only. Right now, the interaction doesn’t act like a true social (it doesn’t run in group convo threads and Sims may not face each other).
- Priority Conflict: The interaction won’t interrupt the ghost if they’re doing something.
My suggestion to this: use Reset Object on the ghost to clear their actions prior to asking their cause of death.
- Initial Lag: On first use (especially with many mods), the interaction may lag for a few seconds. This improves after first load.

This is only my second public mod and I’ll be actively improving it. Please report any issues, and if you’d like to see support for CC deaths in the future, let me know!
