Description

Yes, it's that time again. That time where I go through a few odds and ends from various Sims games and convert what strikes my fancy! This time I was motivated to convert the Sims3 Showtime Sci-fi set and a few Sims2 Spooky Store items and a couple of other things that came my way.
Sims2 (console)
UFO - Made with help from MadRayne, this is the small UFO in the background of the Alien Crash Site in the Sims 2 Console. It has two swatches - the first representing what I think they were going for based on the texture files and the second representing the game's actual appearance, which I think was glitched.
UFO (assembled) - MaxRayne helped with feedback on this one and a rip that helped establish scale, this is the crashed alien ship from the sims2 Console reassembled. There's a fair amount of guesswork involved here. The in-game model is actually quite different from the version seen in the opening and ending cutscenes. Where were those large open canisters supposed to go? Also, the in-game version doesn't have the lower part; I mostly mirrored the top and tried to make up a texture based on how the ship looks like in the opening cutscene combined with the actual in-game texture. Trying to reconstruct something that was only broken in the game was an interesting exercise. I tried to get the lights to always be on, but no luck; they only function in the night.
UFO (crashed) - The alien ship crashed and made to work with a flat plane. I actually managed to get the lights to emit at all times for this version.
UFO (crashed, tilted) - The alien ship in the angle it appears in the game itself. Use terrain tools to make full use of this. While NinjaRipper managed to get most of this and the rip Max gave me supplied the scale (even if it was distorted) the emitter part seen in the center of the ship was especially difficult to get as it just didn't show up using either of those methods! I had to use 3D Ripper DX to get it and try my best to fix the distortion. What a pain! On all the ships the colours threw me off a bit, but Max Reminded me of the green haze over the entire area. So, if you wonder if the colors are off, that's why!
Sims2 (PSP)
Beelzebeef - That's right, the deity of the Kine Society themselves! Thanks, DaniZaya, for the model. With the Paranormal Pack you can offer your soul to her, but relationships can still be established without it.
Sims2
Grinning Jack-o'-Lantern
Wicked Jack-o'-Lantern
The Gargoylite - From the Sims2 store, it's a tiny outdoor candle light.
Just a Glow Street Lamps - Also from the Sims2 store. Fun fact! Did you know the glass shader makes the flame effect disappear? I didn't, until I converted this item. So I couldn't get tinted glass like the original had.
The Squatting Gargoyle by Cruestella
When Pigs Fly Gargoyle
Great Outdoors Great Big Trash Can - The default trash can. The lid lifts up like the Sims 4's trash cans do and there's some small animation quirks, but even with those quirks I'm still glad I was able to incorporate a more classic looking trash can into the game.
Sims3
Door of Life And Death - Guitar - My own version of this guitar. Just the one swatch, but it has the default guitar stand. It's cloned from Grim's Ghoulish Guitar and has the same effects.
Door of Life And Death - Guitar (Challenger) - The guitar the challenger has when facing the Reaper. It's kind of boring, but I wanted it.
Dusty Old Lamp - The Genie Lamp; works as a candle!
Dusty Old Lamp (clutter) - A version that's just clutter.
Newspaper - The Newspaper from the Sims 3! People still have newspapers around, so I wanted to have them in my game.
Newspaper (rolled) - Another state for the Newspaper, you can stack things on this version. (Who hasn't had things stacked on top of newspapers at home?) Heck, you can stack this Newspaper on top of each other!
X-75 Hover Scooter - A request I received some time ago, this is the scooter form Into the Future converted into a bicycle. I had to use 3D Ripper DX to get the textures at full size, but all the official textures are there.
Ragin’ Avian Youth Hover Scooter - The child version of the above, requires Parenthood.
Showtime Sci-fi set conversion - These were all a real pain to make with multiple tries going into each item. At the end of the day I wound up using Get To Work's mailbox for most of them in order to get transparent, glowing pieces with enough parts to function as intended. I merged all the packages according to item as there's actually a fair number of packages needed to make each color variant. A lot of edits had to be made to get the colors right and I had to use 3D Ripper DX to get the texture at full size!
SimTech Giga-Panel - a version that's a regular sculpture and one that's a wall sculpture. Requires Get to Work.
SimTech Digi-Column - With a moving, glowing, lights! Requires Get to Work.
SimTech Digi-Arch - both as a sculpture and as an actual arch! The sculpture requires Get to Work, but the actual arch doesn't.
SimTech Sim-Bot - Requires Get to Work.
SimTech WhatIzIt?!? (plasma tree) - An imperfect conversion that lacks the top portion seen in Sims 3. It just doesn't work with that on top since the glass shaders in Sims 4 leave a lot to be desired. For the same reason it and the orb lack the glow effect on the bottom part of the mesh. Requires Get to Work.
SimTech Bio-Cube - An End Table Requires Get to Work.
SimTech Electro-Orb - A lot of edits had to be made to the texture and mesh to get this right, but I think it looks as close as it can to the Sims3 version. The light glow and move! Requires Get to Work.
Outdoor Trashcan - The default trash can for the Sims 3 in all three official colors. Like the Sims 2 version animations can be glitchy, but the end result is worth it.
Sims Mobile
Sims Mobile rips!? While the game has a lot of straight Sims 4 conversion it does have a couple of items I wanted to have in Sims 4 that weren't already there. Ripping from Mobile can be frustrating. Unlike Freeplay rips are distorted in scale, so they all have to be my best guess based on other objects. What's worse is that most objects seem to have their maps ripped in black and white with the R and B color layers representing blocks of color and the green layer representing the black and white multiply layer. And there's not a dedicated program to rip them, so most rips are a very tedious process. However, the objects I was interested weren't like that - except for the loveseat under the cloth for that conversion.
Bed Frame single/double/toddler - I wanted to have some items suitable for a derelict or abandoned house and the bed frame from where you first move in fits the bill. I edited this to create a double version and one for toddlers. They're in the beds category, even though you can't sleep on it.
Draped Loveseat - Like the bed frame, this is also where you first move in and is also in the loveseat category even if you can't sit on it. To my surprise the Retro Couch wasn't in the Sims 4, so I converted that too, even if you can't really see it. The Sims Mobile actually doesn't have a thing under there, but you have more angles in 4. I tried to make this usable as a seat, but it clipped into Sims too much.
Draped Table and Chairs - Like the loveseat, this was from where you first move in. Unlike the loveseat this is usable as a table! Only two slots, obviously.
LlamaZoom Truck - Have find memories of LamaZoom? I don't either, but I still wanted Emily's truck so I ripped it before she took a permeant hike from the game.
Luggage - Again, from where you Sim first moves into their house.
Moving Boxes (normal and large) - These remind me of my own cluttered basement. And you can store items just like an actual stack of boxes! You can also place items on top of the boxes. Remake your own cluttered basement.
Open Moving Box - Again, from when you move in, you can place small, medium, or large objects in this box.
Sims4 Unlocks
Onibi (Forest Spirit) Spawner - Required Snowy Escape, this is, basically, a rug you can place that will spawn Forest Spirits wherever you like. Increase the size to increase the area. There's a small area in the middle that you can grab, but the larger you make it the harder it is to find.
