Contemporary Shaker-Style Kitchen for TS4

Description

Kitchens are a pain to make. Although it appears as one object in the catalogue, it is multiple meshes combined that are needed to give you a functional kitchen. You then have to be meticulous in assuring they are all the right size and seamlessly join together, both the placement and the texture. I said after my last two custom kitchens it would be a while before I made another, and today is that day, over two years later, that i bring you my latest creation. I like to think I have learnt a lot in the time that has passed which made this process go a little faster then a snail's pace, but in honesty, it probably took about the same time. Regardless, I love this new kitchen. It is a more contemporary shaker style that works in both classic and modern designs. I am going to get a lot of use out of it, and maybe it will form the base for another kitchen in the near future like Shaker Kitchen formed the base of Lennox Kitchen. Depends on how I feel.

What you need to know:

  • Firstly, I changed the shader of the cabinets so grab my Default Replacement No Occluder Appliances package file to solve any shadow issues
  • The sink acts like any other countertop sink so you can match it with any counter. However, it was specifically designed for this kitchen so there is no guarantee it will work or look good with other counters out there
  • The counters/islands come in two countertop styles. YOU NEED THE WHITE MARBLE COUNTERS INGAME if you want to use the black countertop variant because of linked textures.
  • I have repurposed the end cabinets and counters so I could have alternate standard cabinet/counter variants. Check pictures to view what the left and right variants look like. Enable manual placement mode to gain access to them (toggle or cog button). These cannot be used for food prep so make sure you have default counter in kitchen as well. Used them for appliances instead.
  • The glass cabinets have slots to place clutter inside
  • The rangehoods are wall-mounted only
  • the backsplash was a last-minute idea to give a bit more choice for designs. Fully tileable and comes in most of my "look at me" tile variants because they are my favourite.
Updates:
  • 06/11/2018 - Something kooky happened and bones got flipped on low lod Fridge mesh. Remade to fix issue and should hopefully replace original without manually needing to. Also fixed unedited backsplash description.

The Build/Buy items feature:

  • basegame compatibility
  • non-default
  • 20 meshes in total with between 6 and 39 colour/style options:
  • find items easily using phrase "Mina" in search bar (try this tutorial to easily find my sets)
  • style (found under "contemporary" tag) and colour filter compatible
  • custom thumbnails
