WHAT IS GENESISCORE?

GenesisCore expands 7 Days to Die with an adaptive world director, a persistent horde simulation and a living regional zombie population that does far more than simply increase zombie numbers.
It watches how you survive, remembers the patterns you create, and gradually adjusts the pressure around the way you actually play.
Your behavior leaves traces:

where you spend your time;
how far you travel;
how quickly you progress;
how often you fight;
how much noise you create;
which routes you repeatedly use;
where you recover and begin to feel safe.

Defended shelters, frequently traveled roads, repeated combat activity, long periods of occupation and moments of growing security become part of a persistent, world-specific memory.
GenesisCore does not judge your survival through difficulty settings alone.
It studies your behavior.

GenesisCore now includes a compact noise meter in the top-left corner of the HUD. It displays the actual noise signature calculated by GenesisCore, showing how movement, combat, tools and weapons affect how noticeable you are to the simulated world.

A WORLD THAT REMEMBERS

Your actions are no longer isolated events.
Movement, noise, combat, shelter activity, travel patterns, weather conditions, regional population pressure and horde activity all contribute to one connected system.
The longer you remain in one area, the more confidently you defend it and the more predictable your habits become, the more information the world gains about you.
Quiet and careful survivors may delay the attention they attract.
Those who dominate an area, create sustained noise, repeatedly travel the same routes or grow careless behind familiar defenses give GenesisCore more reasons to respond.
The world does not simply react to where you are.
It remembers where you have been.

THE PERSISTENT HORDE WORLD

At the center of GenesisCore is a persistent horde simulation that continues beyond the limits of the loaded world.
Hordes are not created only when the player is meant to see them.
They exist as permanent logical populations with their own:

identities;
members;
positions;
movement directions;
memories;
routes;
losses;
histories.

Even while distant regions remain unloaded, Genesis hordes continue to exist inside the simulation.
They travel between regions, follow known routes, react to accumulated evidence and gradually move toward locations that have become relevant through player activity or their own knowledge of the world.
Leaving an area does not erase them.
Closing the game does not recreate them from nothing.
When the world is loaded again, the same hordes continue from their saved state.
Each horde member also possesses a permanent identity.
A physical zombie may disappear when its chunk unloads, but the member itself remains part of the world. Returning to the region may cause that same persistent member to materialize again as a new physical entity.
The body is temporary.
The identity remains.
Deaths are permanent.
A member killed in the world remains dead. It is not silently recreated, replaced or restored the next time the area loads.
If every living member of a horde is destroyed, that horde becomes extinct. Its identity and history remain part of the world, but it no longer moves, materializes or returns as though nothing happened.
But the apocalypse does not remain empty forever.
Beyond the visible hordes, GenesisCore maintains a persistent regional zombie population spread across the world.
Each logical region carries its own population, capacity and connection to neighboring regions. Population can move naturally between them, recover slowly where space remains and become concentrated where pressure continues to build.
These are not infinite numbers waiting to be spawned. Every individual must come from somewhere, and every movement changes the region it leaves behind.
Some individuals can separate from the anonymous regional population and become persistent Regional Agents with their own identity, origin, position, physical class, role and lifecycle state.
Agents may wander alone, search for activity or gather into persistent groups.
Those groups can travel together, dissolve back into individual agents, join an existing horde or found an entirely new one.
When an agent becomes a horde member, its identity is preserved. Its AgentId becomes its permanent MemberId instead of being discarded and replaced.
Natural migrants can emerge from distant unloaded regions, travel through the abstract world and join existing hordes when the conditions are safe.
Hordes may grow through migration, absorb compatible groups, merge with other hordes or divide when internal instability makes separation necessary.
Entirely new hordes can form with their own permanent identities, members, composition, origin, lineage and history.
Their creation is not restricted by an artificial lifetime quota. It is controlled naturally by population, group formation, movement and world conditions.
Old hordes are not recycled.
The dead are not renamed.
What emerges is something new.
When distance, terrain, loaded-world conditions, environmental restrictions and safety rules allow it, members of these logical hordes materialize as real physical threats.
They are not arbitrary enemies placed directly in front of the player.
They are the visible arrival of something that was already moving through the wasteland.
GenesisCore coordinates this physical presence through a shared world-spawn authority. Genesis hordes and ordinary wandering population use available world capacity without taking ownership of sleepers, quests, POIs, Screamers or Blood Moon hordes.
When the world is already under heavy load, additional Genesis members remain persistent and logical instead of being forced into physical existence. Nothing is deleted or reset; they can materialize later when conditions allow it.
The horde exists beyond the moment of confrontation.
Even when unseen, the apocalypse continues to move.

LEARNING ZOMBIE NAVIGATION

Once materialized, Genesis horde zombies are not limited entirely to simple, direct movement.
GenesisCore observes how they navigate local environments, including:

doors;
stairways;
corners;
narrow passages;
corridors;
blocked approaches;
difficult terrain;
elevation changes;
repeated congestion points.

Successful transitions, failed approaches, repeated stagnation and useful local routes can become part of a growing navigation memory.
Individual horde members can retain limited personal experience.
A zombie that previously found a useful entrance, became trapped near a doorway or failed repeatedly at the same approach may remember that result after unloading and later rematerialization.
When a Genesis horde zombie becomes genuinely stuck, the system may provide limited rescue guidance without replacing the Vanilla AI.
It can:

reuse a previously successful local route;
select a validated intermediate position;
attempt a controlled sideways detour;
spread nearby members across different recovery directions;
reduce repeated congestion at the same doorway, corner or passage;
return control to Vanilla AI when no safe solution exists.

Failed solutions are remembered.
A zombie should not blindly repeat the same unusable intermediate target again and again. Routes that repeatedly fail can be disabled for the remainder of the current world session, while directions that have already succeeded may receive a limited preference.
Horde members may also share weakened hints with one another, allowing successful movement to influence the group without copying an entire member’s personal memory.
GenesisCore does not make zombies omniscient.
It allows them to remember what actually happened.

ROADS, BRIDGES AND PLACES

Genesis hordes can gradually build limited knowledge of locations they have genuinely observed.
This can include:

roads;
bridges;
buildings;
entrances;
interiors;
industrial areas;
military locations;
hospitals;
stores;
farms;
wilderness routes;
dead ends;
successful crossings.

This knowledge is not generated from a complete hidden map.
GenesisCore does not scan the entire world or reveal unloaded structures to the horde.
Information must come from real local observations made by living, physical Genesis members.
Known roads, bridges, entrances and successful passages may influence later strategic movement. Dangerous areas, blocked routes, water, excessive slopes and changed terrain can cause a route to be rejected or reconsidered.
Strategic routing remains a soft influence.
It suggests where a horde should attempt to travel.
Vanilla AI still decides how each physical zombie actually gets there.

SAFE, GROUND-VALIDATED GUIDANCE

Every guidance position is validated before use.
GenesisCore checks conditions such as:

terrain support;
body clearance;
collisions;
water;
dangerous blocks;
radiation;
trader protection;
loaded chunks;
world boundaries;
environmental restrictions;
local reachability.

Strategic destinations without a trustworthy height are projected onto safe ground before being passed back to the Vanilla AI.
Previously validated positions may be cached to reduce unnecessary terrain checks, but cached results are never trusted indefinitely.
They are revalidated before reuse, allowing the system to respond when the world changes through construction, destruction or shifting environmental conditions.
Unsafe targets are rejected rather than forced.
When GenesisCore cannot prove that an intervention is safe, it does nothing.

VANILLA AI REMAINS IN CONTROL

GenesisCore does not replace Vanilla combat behavior.
It does not overwrite:

attack targets;
revenge targets;
EAI tasks;
A* pathfinding;
combat decisions;
door interaction;
normal zombie behavior.

It does not create a second full pathfinding system.
It does not teleport zombies.
It does not force them through walls.
It does not rewrite blocks to create an artificial route.
It does not place arbitrary enemies directly in the player’s path.
GenesisCore operates above the Vanilla AI as a limited strategic and memory layer.
It may suggest direction, provide a validated intermediate target or preserve knowledge about a previous route—but Vanilla AI remains responsible for actual movement, obstacle handling and combat.
Its interventions are deliberately limited, temporary and fail-closed.
When a situation cannot be evaluated safely, GenesisCore steps back.

ADAPTIVE HORDE COMPOSITION

Genesis hordes are not assembled from one fixed zombie list.
Their composition can adapt according to:

biome;
biome difficulty;
player and party Game Stage;
Genesis progression;
current pressure;
time of day;
existing horde composition;
category limits;
class limits;
variant eligibility.

Possible roster roles include:

common zombies;
heavy zombies;
crawlers;
mobility types;
biome specialists;
tactical types;
elite types.

Feral, radiated and other advanced variants are controlled through progression and pressure requirements rather than being enabled without limits.
Normal zombies remain the foundation of the horde, while more dangerous types appear through controlled eligibility rules.
A horde moving through the Snow biome should not feel identical to one shaped by the Desert or Wasteland.
Its population reflects the world around it.

ADAPTIVE PRESSURE, NOT ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY

The environment is no longer merely a backdrop.
Weather, movement, sound, combat, shelters, player habits, horde activity, learned routes and previous encounters can all contribute to the pressure surrounding the player.
GenesisCore can recognize patterns such as:

prolonged occupation of one area;
repeated successful defense;
rapid progression;
frequent combat;
sustained noise;
predictable travel;
periods of vulnerability;
periods of recovery.

Pressure does not exist only to punish the player.
The system also monitors when the world is already demanding too much.
Cooldowns, minimum phase durations, recovery periods, overload protection and encounter-validity checks are intended to prevent constant intervention or unfair chains of immediate assaults.
Hordes can search, track, attack, withdraw, regroup and recover.
An encounter that becomes invalid can end instead of being forced.
A world under heavy load can reduce or block additional physical pressure.
GenesisCore operates independently of the selected difficulty.
Instead of relying only on fixed values or predefined stages, it evaluates how you actually play.

THE HORDE HAS A LIFECYCLE

Genesis hordes can move through persistent behavioral phases:

Dormant;
Searching;
Tracking;
Assault;
Withdrawal;
Recovery.

These phases are not simple visual labels.
They influence how a horde interprets evidence, whether physical pressure is allowed, how long an encounter may remain active and when the horde must fall back.
Major transitions require evidence.
They respect minimum durations and cooldowns.
A horde should not move from silence to full assault in an instant without a valid reason.
After losses or excessive pressure, it may withdraw and recover before becoming dangerous again.
The horde does not simply spawn.
It has a state.

GenesisCore is designed to create a world that remembers you.
A world that listens.

A world where regional populations continue to move beyond loaded chunks.
