Lore Forever

Narrator voices and quest dialogue are on CurseForge. Lore Forever comes with the male narrator. Add the female narrator, quest dialogue in the male or female narrator's voice, or male and female narration in German or French as separate packs. Install the packs you want, type /reload in game, and choose your voice order in Options under Narration voices.

English male narration is included. Translated text and recordings are separate language downloads, rather than part of the main file. Choose a narration pack for Deutsch, Español (España), Français or Português (Brasil); each language's voice download includes its matching translated text pack. Lore Forever follows your WoW client's language, or pick one in Options under Language (or type /lore lang). The recorded narrator packs have selected stories and answers in German and French; Spanish and Portuguese are text for now, until native-accent recordings arrive. Recorded quest dialogue is in English; other dialogue stays available as text.

Ever finish a quest chain and realize you have no idea why you just killed forty gnolls? Lore Forever gives you the story behind the places, people and quests around you, right in game, and reads it to you if you like.

Open the panel (press your Lore Forever key, click the book on your minimap, or type /lore). It already knows where you are and what you're working on: the left side shows the story of your zone and subzone, your target and your quests, and the right side is a conversation you can keep going.

What it does

• Narrated stories. Hear zone, capital and dungeon stories, dungeon bosses, answers, places and people in Lore Forever's recorded voices.
• Ask in plain English. "Who is Edwin VanCleef?", "Why is Westfall so poor?", "What happened to Moonbrook?" Suggestions appear as you type, and every answer offers follow-up questions.
• Knows where you are. Suggestions follow your zone, subzone, target and quest log.
• Lore on your tooltips. NPCs and mobs get a one-line story. Items tell you when one of your quests needs them.
• Optional quest dialogue. Lore Forever narrates its own stories and recorded answers. Quest dialogue starts off, including its play button on the quest window. To hear quest givers through Lore Forever, install a separate Quest Dialogue pack and turn on Speak quest dialogue in Options. Skip these packs if Spoken, Chatty Little NPC or another add-on already speaks your quests.
• Quest backstory. A Lore button on the quest dialog and quest log tells the story behind the quest.
• Dungeon primers. Walk into a dungeon and get a short briefing: why you're there and who you'll face, in order.
• Spoiler-safe. Answers that give away a twist or an ending ask before revealing anything, and tooltips never mention quests you don't have yet.
• Made for WoW Forever. Covers every zone, city and dungeon up to level 30 plus Zephras Isle, the Hall of Thanes and the Ruins of Lordaeron, and the story of the wider world beyond. Written for Forever's own timeline, so it won't spoil events from later expansions.
• Offline. Everything is inside the add-on. No browser, no alt-tab, nothing to sign up for.

Every zone, city and dungeon a WoW Forever player can reach up to level 30 (quests, NPCs, places and bosses), Zephras Isle and the Skyborne, the Hall of Thanes, the Ruins of Lordaeron, and place lore for the rest of the world. Recorded narration covers selected zone stories, dungeon bosses, answers, places and people; entries without a recording stay available as text. In English, Deutsch, Español (España), Français and Português (Brasil): the language follows your game client, or pick one in Options. Recorded narrator packs have selected stories and answers in German and French; Spanish and Portuguese are text for now. Recorded quest dialogue is in English; coverage is partial.

More narrator voices (optional)

The female narrator, German male and female narrators, and French male and female narrators are separate projects on CurseForge. The male and female Quest Dialogue packs are separate projects too. Install as many voices as you like and put them in your order in Options under Narration voices. Recording coverage varies; more recordings arrive with updates.

For manual installs, unzip a pack into Interface\AddOns next to the LoreForever folder, type /reload, and choose it in Options under Narration voices.

The female narrator's story bundle contains her core, Alliance lands and Horde lands packs. Quest Dialogue packs are separate optional downloads. With Willo, Lore Forever's free companion app, running, the book's short answers are read aloud in her voice.

The main download and the female narrator's all-stories zip leave quest dialogue out. Quest Dialogue packs for either narrator are separate optional projects on CurseForge. Installing one does not turn it on: choose Speak quest dialogue in Options when you want Lore Forever to speak your quests.

Willo, your optional companion

Willo is Lore Forever's free companion app for Windows, a little blue wisp of light beside your game. Chat with her while you play, click her for a chat right in game, and target a character to have them answer you themselves. She's a separate download from the Lore Forever website and needs a free Lore Forever account. She can also keep your journey and pictures on your profile after /reload or logout. The add-on works offline without Willo.
