Description
Cobblemon Champions Training
Training is something the trainer pays for.
Cobblemon Champions Training retires Effort Values and puts the Pokémon Champions standard in their place: stat points. A Pokémon no longer soaks up EVs from whatever it happens to knock out. You decide what it becomes, and you pay for it yourself.
What changes
- Stat points instead of EVs. A budget you spend, not a number that piles up behind your back.
- Trained where you already look. Stat points are spent on the stats page of Cobblemon's own summary screen, and nature and ability are changed right on its info page. No new screen, no new item, no menu to learn.
- Every move it can learn, on hand. A Pokémon in training can switch to any move its form can legally learn, egg moves included, from Cobblemon's own move screen.
- Builds you can keep. Save up to four builds per Pokémon, with stat points, nature, ability and moves, and swap between them in a couple of clicks.
- You pay, not the Pokémon. Training costs your own experience by default, so retraining a competitive team is an investment. A server can bill in CobbleDollars (CurseForge) instead.
- A perfect Pokémon is the price of entry. Training unlocks on a Pokémon that is 31 in all six IVs, whether it was bred that way or brought there with Bottle Caps. IVs stay in the stat formula, so breeding, hyper training and other mods that read them keep working. Once a Pokémon is in training, its summary shows stat points where the IV and EV tabs were.
- Turn on only what you want. Each replaced mechanic has its own switch and every price can be tuned, all in game, from an operator command or the config screen (Cloth Config, via Mod Menu on Fabric). Prefer mints for natures? Keep them. Want natures retrained instead? Do that. Want both? That is the default.
Requirements
Requires Cobblemon (CurseForge) 1.8.
Recommended, not required: Cobblemon: PlayerXP (CurseForge). Vanilla only pays experience for defeating mobs, and a Cobblemon world has little of that. PlayerXP pays you experience for the battles your Pokémon win, so the currency this mod spends refills from what you are already doing.
Fabric and NeoForge, Minecraft 1.21.1.
