It’s finally here! After weeks of sculpting, modeling, and polishing, Update 3.3 has just landed — and we can’t wait for you to dive in.
This update is all about expanding the world of Brixel, both in depth and detail. We’ve brought in all the shiny new content from Minecraft 1.21.4 and transformed it, brick by brick, into our unique Brixel-style vision. From strange new blocks to long-awaited tweaks, 3.3 is bursting with updates that will make your worlds feel more alive, more playful, and more Brixel than ever.
You’ll stumble across strange new contraptions like the Trial Spawner and Crafter, wander through forests of shimmering Pale Oak, and uncover hidden art among brand-new paintings. Even the Copper family has gotten a full makeover — oxidized, cut, chiseled, lit, unlit — you name it, it’s glowing and gleaming like never before.
But it’s not just about what’s new — it’s also about what’s better. We’ve gone back and reworked textures from the earliest Brixel days: flowers, fences, doors, shears, UI icons — they’ve all been retouched with more detail, more polish, and more character. Things that once felt simple now pop. The world feels more tactile, cohesive, and dynamic.
And yes — we’ve crushed a whole pile of bugs and compatibility gremlins. If you’ve run into glitches with chests, beds, boats, armor, or spawn eggs, worry no more. Everything should now behave exactly as it should, especially if you’re playing on our recommended setup: Minecraft 1.21.4 with Optifine.
Why that version? Because it’s the latest Minecraft build that still supports custom entity models (CEM) — meaning your mobs, armor, boats and more will appear with all the full Brixel detail and flair. You can still enjoy Brixel on newer versions via Iris, but be aware: without CEM, some of those custom brick models won’t show.
So what are you waiting for? Grab the update, fire up Minecraft, and step into the most detailed Brixel world yet.
See you in-game — and happy bricking! 🧱💛
ABOUT BRIXEL
Brixel turns Minecraft into world made of tiny bricks, similar to those that many of us remember from our childhood!
Each block has been given a new dimension, by transforming it into a Brixel – a cube built of many small 3d elements (brick-pixels). Those little bricks come in different forms and lie on different layers, creating depth and "mosaique" structure on the blocks. Each Brixel has been designed individually, resembling the looks and purpose of the original blocks.Brixel aims to give a unique and never-before-seen aesthetics to the Minecraft world, but still keep the vanilla Minecraft feel.
Features:
Turn Minecraft into world made of tiny bricks. Dive into ultimate Minecraft brick experience, as never seen before!
Optimized performance - complex geometry is simulated using Parallax Occlusion Mapping.
Created for use with BSL Shaders v8.2+.
Available in different resolutions: 64x, 128x, 256x and 512x.
Custom brick sounds. The bricks make “rattling” and “clicking” sounds when they are placed, hit and destroyed. Footsteps have their own sounds as well!
