Description
This RPG adventure mod pack has been curated to make its mods work well with each other (most of the time). All of these mods have been configured so some common knowledge might be thrown out of the window.
This is Yellowmoon---An RPG modpack that pushes the adventure and combat aspect of 1.12.2 minecraft to the limit. Here, a torrent of challenges will impede the player from having a stale exploration and life complacency.
A MUST READ (I recommend that you do not skip these):
Setting up your game:
- The minimum requirement for this modpack is 8GB ram. Do not forget to allocate this to your launcher.
- Make sure to change your settings first to suit your needs (render distance, auto jump, Optifine installation, Essential mod for multiplayer, Simple Voice Chat, etc.).
- Keep in mind that Optifine is not included in the pack as default. You need to manually install that.
- Make sure to change your controls first as well and make sure to check if there are no conflicting key binds for smooth gameplay.
- The pack comes with its own settings, change this to your preference.
- This mod pack is designed to be played on Hard difficulty.
- When playing multiplayer with Essential mod, it is highly required to have the same version or memory crashes might occur.
- Using shaders in other modded dimensions might not be visually appealing. It is recommended to switch to no shaders when going in these dimensions.
Combat:
- Lots of weapons have on hit effects upon critical strike. Attacking has new mechanics that allows for dual wielding, some weapons are two handed.
- Tons of bosses and mobs to conquer. Diamond armor is the standard armor when fighting mobs.
- Most NPCs and mobs are out to kill the player, but there are many weapons and magic spells that the player can utilize to their advantage. EBWizardry will help you a lot so learn it early in the game!
- Most neutral mobs have a chance to become completely hostile. Be wary of endermen, especially at the End dimension.
- Most mobs drop intestines which can give a variety of helpful items to aid the player in combat.
- Intestines have a small chance to drop life shards, which the player can use to increase their maximum health. THIS IS LIMITED TO 10 SHARDS ONLY! If the player decides to go over that limit, they can but if they die, they lose those additional hearts PERMANENTLY.
- Intestines also have a chance to drop soul bottles which can capture most mobs. The player can use this for combat or mob collection purposes.
- A lot of mobs have gear with them, sometimes these mobs even ride horses. Special mobs also spawn. Be on the lookout for infernal mobs, naturally spawning charged creepers, TNT throwing mobs etc.
- Mobs that have pickaxes will tunnel to the player.
- Mobs that have a shield will use it. axes, battleaxes, maces, hammers, warhammers, and blockandchains can disable shields.
- If a hostile mob is stuck in water, it will find a way to get to the player one way or another.
- The player can disenchant enchantments from armor, and store XP in bottles. Utilize this feature.
- Most armor have set bonuses to them which makes them more powerful and viable.
- You can crawl on demand by pressing the right shift key!
- Lots of new transformations from transformation powders that can drop from infernal and champion mobs!
- Transformation Powder (Twilight Forest) can be used on evil wizards, blazing juggernauts, and dread liches. They will transform into bosses, be advised.
- The Twilight Forest now has a Final Boss!
Adventuring:
- Dungeons are very hard but will reward you with a ton of loot. There are also many custom roguelike dungeons to explore.
- Horses can be summoned anywhere provided they were set as the player's personal horse and provided that they are alive.
- You can revive and tame dinosaurs which can help you in your journey.
- Be careful who you pick a fight with! Some mobs have factions and alliances.
- Bodies of water are essentially death traps. Many mobs lurk there with the sole intent of killing you.
- Many structures to find while exploring, proceed with caution as these structures harbor hostile NPCs that are very deadly.
- Elytra can be combined with chest plates. The player can toggle the elytra on/off via keybind.
- Nature's compass can help the player find specific biomes. For example, finding magical forests and sacred springs can grant the player access to hot spring water for easy healing.
- TO GO TO THE TWILIGHT FOREST DIMENSION, THE PLAYER NEEDS TO CRAFT THE BIOMES O' PLENTY'S TERRESTRIAL ARTIFACT FOR THE PORTAL ACTIVATION (REPLACED DIAMOND).
THE PLAYER NEEDS TO FIND THE GEMS NEEDED TO CRAFT THIS. THESE GEMS/ORES SPAWN IN DIFFERENT BIOME TYPES SO ALWAYS CHECK UNDERGROUND.
- At -8000 on the Z coordinate, a huge wall stands. Atop of this colossal structure is the home of many dragons. They are very dangerous. Beyond the wall increases the spawn rate of CQR dungeons.
- Xaero's minimap and world map are included in this pack.
- This pack has Lightning Dragons, The Dread Queen, and Black Frost (courtesy of Ice and Fire RLCraft Edition).
- Copper and Silver ore blocks do not generate naturally. They can still be obtained from smelting items or stealing them from dragons.
- There are custom added spells unique to this pack!
Healing and HP:
- There is no natural regeneration, damage is split into body parts. Getting your HP on your body and head to zero instantly kills you.
- Some cave flora can provide a reliable way of healing
- Mobs you kill can drop heart drops which will heal you upon contact. Organic mobs can also drop intestines which have a variety of items including healing ones.
- Crafting bandages is very expensive, you can buy them instead with emeralds from villages that have shopkeepers (check out all of their trades).
- Emerald can be easily obtained through trading with Traveler villagers which can be summoned by lighting a coal block on fire or talking to them at villages where they spawn naturally.
- There are spells in the game that can heal you, this is very invaluable when exploring.
- Biomes O' Plenty's hot spring waters can also heal you so make sure to take a lot of them. Their buckets are stackable.
- Farm ambrosium shards from the Aether, these shards very easy to get and can instantly heal you upon usage.
- Some structures have NPCs that have priests that will heal you.
- Sleeping will heal half your maximum hearts.
- Enchanted Golden apples are made fairly common and have a crafting recipe.
Death overhaul:
When you die, a corpse spawns at your place and keeps your items in them indefinitely so you do not have to worry about losing your items.
- Upon death, besides the corpse mentioned above, a moving corpse will also spawn at the place of your death, they can be sometimes hostile.
- Back Pergamines are obtained from trading with traveller villagers or crafted. These items can teleport you to your last death. Careful, as this can only be used once and disconnecting will delete your last death point.
- Hardcore Revival is present, you can revive fallen comrades before they really die.
- Totems of undying are common in this pack, do not hesitate to use them. They are also stackable.
Storage:
- You can equip backpacks on your bauble slot. These backpacks stay with you even through death. Utilize this feature as much as you want.
- Colossal chests and simple storage network is included for less hassle when it comes to inventory management.
- You can also use toolbelts for better tool coverage.
- Cosmetic armor is included to suit your cosmetic needs. Also a good storage for spare armor since it keeps them through death as well.
- A lot of items are now stackable and some of those that are already stackable have their stacksize increased to 64.
- Bone blocks are now crafted by and into bones instead of bonemeal
- Rotten Flesh, Gunpowder, Sugar, String, Ender Pearls, Spider Eye (yes you heard that), and other materials can be crafted into their bundled version to save storage and can be crafted back to their source materials.
- A lot of items are smeltable, one example of many is that a compass can be smelt for iron. If you think it can yield materials, try it on the furnace! Smelt those armor, tools, weapons, pet armor, etc. that are clogging your inventory up.
Temperature and Thirst bar:
- There is a temperature gauge that responds to the environment that surrounds the player, be careful with blocks/items, biomes, and the seasons that constantly change.
- Canteens are a good solution for thirst. The player can purify them using charcoal filters, or heat water bottles in a furnace for safe drinking.
- Some foods and potions can also help wth your thirst.
- Drinking unpurified water might kill you.
- Some armors can help mitigate temperature harm and some even have set bonuses that completely negates them.
Villages:
- There are waystones that can spawn in villages to make your travelling easier.
- There is a reputation system for villages, be careful not to open chests, break blocks, and hurt villagers while in the village. The consequences can be bypassed if the player attains a certain level of reputation.
- Higher reputation also means better trade deals.
- Most villages have a villager king that gives the player quests, complete these for rewards and reputation.
- Shopkeepers from villages have all the basic necessary items you need to survive.
- Nitwits have trades, some are useful, some are not.
- Traveller villagers love sugar. Sugarcanes can be bonemealed.
I cannot list all of the features, so you have to find out yourself. I secretly added some features so do enjoy finding them all!
I THANK THE MOD CREATORS THAT HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO MAKE THIS MODPACK, CREDITS GOES TO THEM FOR THEIR AWESOME MODS!
Notable Issues:
- There's that issue with Aether's lifeshards, don't take more than 10 shards or you will lose all of its additional hearts upon death permanently with no way to get it back.
- Some Fish's undead rising bombs that drop from intestines sometimes fires a dud.
- Some desync issues might occur (like horse or/and corpse disappearing, buckets of fluids not being picked up, etc.) if RAM allocated is not enough. I recommend 6-8 GBs of RAM. To fix these desync issues, the player only needs to relog into the world. To do this: Allocate 8GB RAM in the curseforge app: Profile options -> Memory Settings (uncheck this) -> Set the slider to 8000MB -> Click Done.
- Switching in between worlds and dimensions too much or change resource packs will make the game load more RAM, I cannot do anything about this as this is forge 1.12.2' fault. At a certain point, the game would have FPS freezes if this happens, the solution is to restart minecraft itself to clear this RAM issue.
- Entering different dimensions and then opening the Xaeros world map disables the global remote from simple storage because the chunk becomes unloaded. You can use Ancient Warfare's chunk loader for that.
When modifying the pack:
- Particle culling is not recommended to be added as it culls some spell effects for versions below 6.5
- Vanillafix is also not recommended to be added as it causes some crashes.
- Please do not update the mods for this pack. The versions selected are picked for a reason. You will run into many issues if you do, especially if used in a server.
- Do not enable ebwiz's spell casting animations since it causes memory leaks
- Rustic Undying effect does not work properly with Hardcore Revival. The user will revive but will need to reconnect in able to move.
