The latest version of Optifine 1.16.5 is recommended / required.
Once installed, move the Optifine installation into the modpack's mods folder.
[ User > curseforge > minecraft > Instances > Xyn's A&E > mods ]
You may choose to disable Apotheosis' Spawner Module from the configs folder manually if you seek more of a challenge.
You can also disable it's Enchantment Module if you find the Enchanting system too complicated.
(However this will obviously also remove a lot of the Enchantments available to you)
