Description

Just a small quality-of-life pack designed specifically for the HowlMC 1.20.1 server (howlmc.net), but suitable for any adventurer. This is a great modpack for people who are new to modded minecraft and want an experience that is similar enough to vanilla to not be overwhelming! Chat reporting is DISABLED with this modpack.

Exploration in the overworld is pretty nifty, with world generation altered by Atmospheric, various dungeons and other structures, and a handful of fantastical and functional custom mobs from the Species mod (but none of those ugly modded animals with super chunky models - you know exactly what I'm talking about). While there are no custom dimensions and the surface of the overworld is relatively unassuming, there are many custom cave biomes beneath your feet from Alex's Caves and Galosphere. Other possibilities include wearing new armor sets from Immersive Armors, using new weapons from Simply Swords and Better Combat, and revolutionizing your storage with Sophisticated Storage and Sophisticated Backpacks (you might want to watch a Youtube tutorial)! Once you settle down, you can occupy yourself with the many new crops of Farmer's Delight and many modded decorations from the Cluttered mod :)

The modpack is completely compatible with the Distant Horizons mod. Each release should have a version marked "Distant Horizons" to indicate that it is included. Distant Horizons is an amazing mod that lets you see far into the distance, many times beyond vanilla sight limits, but it is intensive on your computer.

Most lag in Minecraft comes from the generation of the world as you explore. To pregenerate the world and save your computer the trouble of generating it on the fly as you explore, set Distant Horizons' generator to the "INTERNAL_SERVER" setting, and run the pregeneration with the "/dh pregen" command. For example, "/dh pregen minecraft:overworld 0 0 1000" would pregenerate the overworld out to a radius of 1000 chunks (16000 blocks) with the coordinates 0,0 as the center.

If you want to use shaders with the modpack, please be sure that the shaders you choose to use are compatible with Distant Horizons. Three shaderpacks (Complementary Reimagined, Mellow, and Photon) are included in the modpack.

In an effort to prevent lag and maintain a Vanilla+ feel, there are no large tech mods in this pack and no extra dimensions.

This modpack is fully compatible with the Forge-Spigot hybrid server software Arclight (https://github.com/IzzelAliz/Arclight).

Enjoy!!

Note: During Installation, you may get a warning like the following. Check the box and click "All Files" in order to play the modpack as intended- the files in question are just modified config files for the mods and default keybinds.

Note: If you get an error or crash when trying to make a singleplayer world, try increasing the profile's available RAM in the "Memory Settings" of the modpack in your Curseforge app.
