◆ THE PREMISE

Vinculum is a co-op challenge modpack built around one mechanic: you and your partner are physically chained together. Powered by TogetherForever, once you bind yourself to someone you become one organism — sharing movement, health, hunger, and your entire inventory.

If one of you eats, both of you are fed. If one of you walks into lava, both of you burn. There's no splitting up. No running ahead. No pretending you didn't see that creeper. You move together or you don't move at all.

Think of it as a couples retreat — except the resort is actively on fire, there's no checkout date, and the concierge is a skeleton with a bow.

⛓ THE BOND — ALL FOUR OF YOUR PROBLEMS

💀 Shared Health & Hunger

Your partner just yeeted themselves off a cliff. Congratulations, you're also at half health now. Every hit they take, you feel it. Every meal they forget, you starve for it. You are one body and that body has terrible spatial awareness.

🎒 Shared Inventory

One inventory. Two people. Zero consensus. Why are there 47 pieces of dirt in here. Who ate the golden apple. Where did all the iron go. These questions will never be answered. The relationship may not survive either.

🔗 Physical Tether

Stray too far and the chain yanks you back. There is no "I'll be right back." There is no "just let me check something real quick." Wherever one of you is going, both of you are going. That was always the deal. You made this choice.

🧲 Climb The Chain

Hold Space to launch yourself toward your partner. Useful for traversal. Catastrophic in combat. Roughly 50% chance you fly directly into whatever was already killing them. The other 50% is also bad. We tested this.

📜  To bind yourself:  Craft an Iron Chain, right-click your partner.  There is no undoing it.  Take a moment. Look at this person. Think about the last time they made a decision.  Are you absolutely sure?

🔌 HOW TO ACTUALLY PLAY TOGETHER — e4mc GUIDE

No server. No port forwarding. No googling "what is a firewall" at midnight. e4mc comes bundled and lets you host straight from your client. Here's all of it:

01   Create your world in Hardcore mode

One life. No respawning. The chain makes this significantly more dangerous than you're currently imagining. You are imagining it wrong.

02   Press Escape → Open to LAN → Start LAN World

e4mc intercepts it and generates a public address automatically. You don't need to do anything clever. The mod is clever so you don't have to be.

03   Copy the join code from chat

Something like 0.e4mc.net:12345 appears in your chat. Copy it. Don't lose it. Don't question it.

04   Send it to your partner

Discord, text, carrier pigeon. This is also a good time to say something kind to them. It may be your last peaceful moment together.

05   Partner: Multiplayer → Direct Connection → Paste → Join

That's it. They're in. You are now legally inseparable. Congratulations on whatever this is.

⚠ Both players need the modpack installed. Host must stay in-game — if they close Minecraft, the session ends. That is a lot of power for one person to have over another. Think about that.

◆ OPTIONAL: MAKE THE WORLD FEEL ENORMOUS

Neither is required. Both make the horizon look vast — which makes you feel very small and very, very chained.

🗺 Voxy

LOD rendering for distant terrain. The horizon actually looks real. The sense of scale — and dread — is also real.

🌱 Voxy Worldgen

Generates LOD chunks while you play. The world stretches endlessly — none of which you can explore without dragging your partner along.

◆ WHO IS VINCULUM FOR?

🎦

Streamers

Content writes itself. The fifteen-minute argument about whose fault the death was is the content. The algorithm loves suffering.

🤝

Good Friends

Who think they know each other well. They don't. You learn a lot about someone when their inventory decisions directly affect your health bar.

😬

The Optimistic

"How hard can it be?" is always the last thing people say before they find out. You will find out.

— ⛓ —

"Find someone you trust completely.
Forge the chain. Face whatever comes — together,
whether you like it or not."
