When creating a new singleplayer world, expect a lot of lag until the Distant Horizons LODs finish generating. You can avoid this by lowering DH settings, waiting for LODs to generate, or by joining Typixel which has a decent radius around spawn pregenerated.
HDR mod is included but must be manually enabled and configured.
