Travel craft is about exploring, not only to find loot or discover beautiful new biomes, but to conquer enemies and dungeons and find the best place to build your fantastic base!

Unlike RLcraft, Travel Craft isn't about having a much more difficult, tedious survival experience. Things like realistic torches, the inability to punch trees in the beginning, blood moon events and such are not features of Travel Craft.

So, what are the main features?

Like RLcraft, though, there is still a bit of difficulty when it comes to survival play. When playing,

You will have a thirst bar that also needs to be taken care of like your hunger bar
Health will have to be replenished with bandages and med kits
Being too cold or too hot can cause damage
Powerful dragons roam the Overworld!
Some things cannot be accessed unless you have enough levels in that particular skill! Even things like using an iron sword, or mining a cactus! To level up, you have to collect experience and spend it on leveling up in 6 different areas!

However, there is so much to find!

Many structures all around your world to find, including dungeons and dragon caves!
So many new biomes and beautiful landscapes, provided by OTG and Biome bundle, as well as a better ocean in 1.12 provided by the coral reef mod!
Lot's of new useful items to find, including Inventory Pets!

Matched with the best, classic in-game UI/HUD!

Journey map and damage indicators, my favorite duo!

Of course, everyone needs an epic base

Chisel mod (some of the best looking blocks you can build with!)
Decocraft
Fairy lights
Mr Crayfish's furniture mod
And more!

Mo' creatures. Who doesn't want a pet manticore?
Familiar fauna
Improved and skilled dogs with Doggy Talents. Yes, now you can ride your dog!
Infernal mobs, as if skeletons weren't already annoying enough, now they have a chance at being even worse

Ambient sounds and sound filters, makes the world atmospheric!
Enhanced visuals, makes you feel alive!

Make your survival experience much better and easier

Extra utilities, you might have not known it, but you sure needed these features! A small tech-ish mod that adds lots of machines and tools to help with gameplay
Patty's more stuff. As the names suggests, it adds more stuff! Really useful stuff too!
Baubles/potion rings and toolbelt. Have more space for your tools, and obtain potion effects via rings you wear!
Copygirl's wearable backpacks. The regular inventory is so small, thankfully we have this mod.
Comforts - Nice sleeping bags that are good for exploring!
Waystones
Extended potions, food, and enchantments!
Better fishing and combat systems, with many more fishing rods, fish, and weapons!
Level up in certain fields to gain new, cool abilities!
Tools can have positives or negatives, like in Terraria!

How should I start?

I found that the best things to do right away is explore! locate as many structures as possible, inventory clouds, dungeons, you name it!

Do keep in mind though, that while the normal minecraft experience of mining to find all your things isn't completely necessary, you have to focus on gaining experience to level up or you won't be able to use that shiny sword you found!

Finding creatures to become your pet is hard to avoid. Before I even had a base, I found myself with a haste fairy, a dog (with doggy talents upgrades) a manticore, a snake, a horse and, accidentally, a rabbit, with more to come!

If you find a cloud or a tree with a chest, I strongly recommend investigating, as inventory pets are a big part of this pack and add so much to your gameplay!

Once you find the perfect, beautiful place, you can make your epic base, and continue to explore to add more to it! Eventually, you can defeat the actual dragon, or find a dragon cave and get yourself a pet dragon of your own!

How should I play?

This modpack isn't super based on a required progression or path to follow, so really, you play the way you wanna play!

In my gameplay, I found it a lot more fun and relaxing to play with cheats on, like keep inventory and the ability to teleport to your waypoints on the journey map. Of course, that is up to you, but keep in mind that it's a lot easier to die, so it will get frustrating quick when you lose all of your stuff all of the time, especially when it comes to dragons, where I've had instances of losing everything due to their fire. Travel Craft is supposed to be fun, not infuriating.

It would consider this pack to be much easier than RLcraft, and probably much easier to run too.

In order to play Travel Craft, you will need around 4 gigs allocated. This isn't a super intense pack, and while it has around 100 mods, it's much easier to run than other, light packs I've played, but still, I recommend you play on a decent computer.

For those who want to manually install it for the regular launcher, it uses forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2807.

I know this is an old version of forge, and I am planning on updating it. For now, you can find this version of forge on the forge website if you look at all the 1.12 forge versions.

I highly recommend you play with optifine and shaders.

The game runs and feels better with optifine, and shaders makes it beautiful.

My suggestion is sildurs vibrant shaders - my all-time favorite

To ensure the game runs, the version of optifine I use is HD_U_E3 for 1.12.2, and it works just fine. You can find the download for optifine and it's versions on optifine's official website, as it is not (and cannot be) included in the modpack
