Description
Sci-Fi Exploration
A science fiction modpack with few clutter mods, so it can run smoothly and still be exciting. Built around the Thermal suite, Advanced Rocketry (including full solar system and asteroid configs) and the Just Stargate Mod. Vanilla portals are disabled, so the only way to reach the nether is with an early single-use stargate that requires a LOT of power. With the further addition of Biomes o' Plenty, Atum 2 and The Midnight, there are a plethora of new worlds and dimensions to boldly go and explore!
Technology and Automation
Enjoy just enough mods to build up an industrial base and construct tools to aid you in the effort to explore the final frontier. Vanilla enchantments are disabled, but fan favourites such as Tinkers, RFTools and Thermal allow you to do anything without the need for magic. A serious focus was put on trimming the pack down so there aren't an overwhelming number of complex mods to learn or more than one way to achieve the same goal. All duplicate ores, ingots and materials have been removed from crafting recipes and world generation. New resources and recipes have been added to make exploring the moon and other planets an interesting and rewarding endeavour. A number of quality of life mods such as Quark and Inventory Tweaks are also included.
Planned Features
Although a full solar system exists, at present only Luna, Mars, Phobos and Deimos are fully configured with unique biomes, mobs and resources.
I will flesh out the rest of the solar system one planet/moon at a time before adding some new stars to visit in the lategame.
I want to add a system that generates stargates on other planets, with their addresses discoverable as dungeon loot. At present, this is not possible with how stargate generation is handled so they are only spawned in the overworld, nether and end. This should be added to JSG soon though!
This pack is used in the To Boldly Go Youtube series. This is a sequel to the original pack as the series co-creator who managed it lost interest.
You should be able to load worlds generated in the original pack without any problems but do so at your own risk.
Note that optifine is not included and will have to be downloaded separately!
