A Vanilla+ Create-centric modpack with cinematic terrain, refined cooking & farming, and polished visuals — tuned for builders and tinkerers, now rebuilt as v2.0 with improved stability, resource packs and optimized shaders

Description

Release: Engineer’s Journey — v2.0

I rebuilt and pruned the pack for v2.0 (some older/conflicting mods were removed, several performance-friendly and visual mods were added), bundled a curated resource-pack set and an optimized shader preset, and tuned the mod interactions so Create and Farmer’s Delight work together smoothly. This pack is made in Ukraine🇺🇦 with love for the game and for players around the world — please join our small Discord community and say hi 👋 in the #international chat (we see everything — no one gets lost here).

What’s new in v2.0

  • Rebuilt modlist for compatibility and stability — I removed conflicting/low-value entries and added optimized alternatives.
  • Visual overhaul: curated resource packs + miniature-shader preset included for immediate cinematic looks.
  • Particle & ambient tuning: Particle Interactions, Particular, Visuality added and tuned for effect + performance.
  • End improved: End's Phantasm included for richer endgame biomes.
  • Farming pipeline: Farmer’s Delight + addons integrated with Create for seamless farm → process → cook automation.
  • Quality of life additions: gliders, backpacks, atlas-style map, and Resourcify in-game pack management.
  • General bugfixes, dependency cleanups and configuration tuning to reduce crashes and conflicts.

Versions & Philosophy (updated for v2.5)

Starting with 2.5, Engineer’s Journey evolves into two clearly defined branches:

▶️ Core Edition — v2.5 (Engineer’s Journey — Core)

Clean, stable, engineering-first.

Built for players who want Create-focused Vanilla+, crisp performance and zero clutter. Core is your “studio edition”: tight, structured, predictable — the baseline for everything Engineer’s Journey stands for.

Character:

  • Fast, lightweight, automation-focused
  • Clear visuals
  • Fewer distractions
  • Long-game stability

Recommended for: builders, automation enjoyers, performance-conscious players.

RAM: 2–3 GB (3 GB for best comfort)

🎉 Community Edition — v2.5-CE (Engineer’s Journey — Community Edition)

Fun-first, shaped by our Discord community.

A more relaxed version — where we add community-picked mods “for fun”, experiments, seasonal extras and small surprises that don’t break the Core philosophy. It’s what you install when you want extra variety but still want the same world compatibility.

Character:

  • More exploration & fun mechanics
  • Extra content voted on by our Discord
  • Keeps Core stability but with playful extensions
  • No power creep, no grind walls

Recommended for: casual co-op sessions, long-term servers with friends, “just vibes” gameplay.

RAM: 3–4 GB

Why two editions?

To let players choose the right balance between performance and immersion. Core = clean engineering. Community Edition = same base + fun content we add together.

Both editions share the same backbone, configs and philosophy — switching between them doesn’t break worlds.

How the versions are distributed

Both editions are available from the same Modrinth project page as separate downloads/variants (look for Core and Seasons & Stories files), so you can pick the build that fits your PC and playstyle. Use the Modrinth App or the .mrpack file for one-click install.

Performance & testing — raw summary + explanation

Tests run on one PC, same seed, render & simulation distance = 32 chunks, identical graphics & driver environment. These are my tests and reflect the tradeoffs chosen for v2.0.

Build / Run Avg FPS Mem max (MB) Notes
Vanilla (baseline) 47 fps 2490 MB Baseline measurement.
Engineer’s Journey v2.0 (my test) 307 fps 2950 MB Higher FPS despite richer visuals; memory higher due to resource packs & new world generation.
Optimized Fabric pack (minimal visuals) 275 fps 1700 MB Low memory usage & fewer assets → huge FPS.

Why some numbers are higher/lower vs Vanilla / optimized builds:

  • The optimized baseline deliberately cuts visual assets and heavier resources to free memory and push raw FPS.
  • Engineer’s Journey v2.0 intentionally trades more RAM for visual fidelity (bundled resource packs + new world generation + particle stacks). However, the pack leverages a modern performance stack (Sodium, Lithium, culling mods, Particle Core tuning, Starlight/Phosphor where relevant) so the FPS remains excellent — often higher than other Optimized Modpacks — because rendering and simulation are shifted and balanced more efficiently.
  • In short: we increased visual quality while still pushing FPS high by optimizing where it matters and using lower-overhead alternatives for heavy systems.

If you want, I can attach exact benchmark logs and the seed/settings used.

Community & gallery — how to share

  • Join our Discord named Spatar and post builds/screenshots in #international — our community is small and active, so your work gets noticed. 📸
  • Post screenshot(s) with the tag #gallery-submissions and short description → the best builds will be featured in the official gallery with credit.
