Changelog:
- Removed Better with Mods. Initial impressions from testing were that the feel of the mod doesn't fit with a high-tech pack like this one. It wasn't a matter of balance as much as it was a matter of being in a fundamentally different class of mods from this pack's.
- Removed ProjectE. Initial testing proved what I feared from the beginning: this mod is just too good at what it does. Over the course of about 3 days, I had created a single MK3 power flower, which was producing a diamond every few seconds. Then I added some Watch of Flowing Time pedestals and started producing Red Matter Furnaces every few seconds. In addition, the tools for the mod outclass essentially every other tool in the game. Even if they were nerfed to be heavily late-game, they would outpace other endgame tools.
- Added Applied Energistics 2, Extra Cells, and Ceramics.
- AE2 and Extra Cells have been added to provide a more complex and interesting system for managing autocrafting and item storage. Eventually, the AE2 meteors will be removed in favor of generated materials which do not create gigantic ugly holes in the landscape. Currently, though, the meteors spawn to allow for easy playtesting.
- Ceramics is a relatively popular mod for early-game water movement and gives clay more uses. I felt that it provided some needed aesthetic choices in building for a modest cost in resources.
- Removed the ability for mobs to spawn with Silent's Gems weaponry. This was a bit unfair on two levels: mobs with a high-level SG sword tend to kill players extremely quickly, and the resulting drops gave players early access to weapons they would not normally be able to make.
- Removed Feldspar. This material was fairly similar to flint, spawned in the world, and was essentially used for nothing except early-game enchatable tools.
- Added RealBench. This mod makes vanilla crafting tables act like Tinkers' Crafting Stations. Should be a good quality-of-life tweak.
- Set Quark to allow sleeping with only 50% of players in their beds (down from 100%).
