--DESCRIPTION--
Unbalanced? probably. UHC? yes. This is a 1.16.5 UHC modpack with the 1.17 cave update features thanks to the Caves and Cliffs Backport Mod. Artifact mod serves to break the traditional aspect of the UHC (I have added recipes for some of the artifacts), which let you traverse the map in different ways as well as provide buffs to your attacks or haste to mine with. Crayfish's gun mod is a unique addition that serves to (maybe) be a nice addition if not too overpowered, you can craft a workbench to assemble guns and then use them to take other players out. Dungeons plus mod causes structures to commonly spawn, but be wary, as many of them are filled to the brim with hostile entities. There is voicechat mod so that you can hear your friends when you kill them. A few mods add better villager trades and more villages, which makes trading a more viable way to get loot for PVP. Hats mod lets you wear a hat after you kill an entity wearing one just for an added level of swagger. The corpse mod allows you to neatly collect sort through and gather loot from players that you have slain. The Allurement and Dash mods add enchants to further enhance the complexity of the game. Archer's paradox lets you fire a different multitude of craftable arrows with unique properties. This is the first rendition with hopefully more spice coming soon.
For players new to UHC, I would advise you to NOT start with this mod pack. Try to play it and experience it in vanilla before moving to this afterwards. UHC is a fun gamemode that is similar to the hunger games except that the spawns are random in a large area, and your goal is to be the last one standing in the shrinking circle. You mine and gather resources instead of looting chests to better equip yourself with powerful tools to PVP others with. This modpack sticks to those foundations, but with mods included, it adds another level of complexity to the original UHC gamemode. Typical UHC rules apply, no natural regen, hardcore, hard mode.
--STARTING THE GAME--
MAKE SURE TO REMOVE FPS REDUCER FROM THE SERVER MODS IN ORDER TO START THE SERVER (CLIENT-SIDED MODS CAUSE AN ISSUE)
Pre-launching the server make sure that you have hardcore enabled as well as hard mode in the server properties.
If you want the voicechat mod to work and it isn't, you may have to change some properties in the config file.
"/worldborder set 1200" at start (makes it a 600x600 area)
When everyone has loaded in run the command "/spreadplayers 0 0 100 400 false @a" (feel free to tweak this as needed)
"/time set 0" once game starts
If you don't want to experience hunger you can do this command, "/effect give @a minecraft:saturation 1000000 20 true"
Players (should) spawn randomly inside the 1000x1000 spawn radius (may have to be tweaked as I could only get myself to spawn in a 200x200 radius). The worldborder starts at 1000 blocks in each cardinal direction. To start the shrinkage of the worldborder, you have to manually enter the command, "/worldborder set <distance in each cardinal direction> <time>". The time is in seconds, so for an hour long match that shrinks the border to 100x100, you would want to type the command, "/worldborder set 100 3600". Which seems to work fine in most cases. I could not find a way to automatically run this command without making a separate mod or plugin, so you will just have to make due with what you have. After the worldborder hits 100x100 and you want people to fight, you can continue to shrink it if needed. by entering a command like "/worldborder set 15 300" which would give the players 5 minutes until the worldborder reaches a 15x15 area essentially forcing a conflict if neither of the players are hiding.
DON'T START EARLY. Wait until everyone is loaded into the server and ready before entering the command, and tell everyone to go when you enter the command. You can kick / punish anyone that starts early, as achievements are enabled so that you can see what people are doing.
To start a new game, make sure to delete the world folder in your (the server host's) modpack profile. (I think that is how it works).
If you think that anything is unbalanced, please let me know so that I can change it, I am open to suggestions. Remember that any player has access to most of the tools that other players may have. The coldsteel mod would be one of the only exceptions.
