Optifine: Make sure that 'Smart Animations' is disabled in the graphics settings. Also, the custom block render layer from Optifine won't work with Nothirium.

Recommended at least 5 GB of ram allocated.

When pregenerating chunks using the GUI disable NotEnoughIDs mod. Then after you are done pregenerating chunks re-enable the mods afterward.

 

 Shaders

When using shaders it is recommended to use Complementary Shaders by EminGTR. When using this make sure you are using Optifine 1.12.2 HD F6 Pre 1 which can be downloaded here. Also, make sure use set the shaders to compatibility mode.
