Taint changes:

  • removed linear pollution fade, caused bug where pollution cloud wouldn't spread farther than 5 chunks

  • removed residual flux that would cause taint to spread slowly even in absence of polluting machines

  • taint seeds now immune to suffocation and starvation, both of which could passively occur and kill it

  • taint evo gamestages replaced in favor of a gamerule that increments when a taint seed dies. Not many effects yet.

aesthetic improvements:

  • taint fiber now looks closer to thaumcraft 4's version

  • custom death animation for tainted mobs

  • essentia smelters now only hive off smoke when actually processing items, should give a better idea of their flux output (tho still far from perfect)

progression:

  • put botania at the very front to incentivise automation from the very beginning and establish a CORE GAMEPLAY LOOP (apparently only around a third of packdevs know what that is)

  • simplified thaumcraft-based ore processing to the point where it can be used to skip the bloomery entirely

  • simplified some crafting recipes for frequently used items to encourage automation

  • laid the groundwork for the big nether & ore processing rework

  • removed Yung's caves in favor of the more customizable CaveGenerator Currently only implemented big-ass ravines, cave systems soon to come
