Description
Welcome to Structureless Superflat: Optimized!
With this modpack installed, you'll gain the ability to beat superflat in survival mode; no structures, cheats, or creative mode needed.
The first step is to create your world! Choose World Type: Superflat, Bonus Chest: On, and Generate Structures: Off. If you'd like it to be a bit easier, turn on Keep Inventory. True challengers can play in Hardcore, but believe me, it's difficult. Once you've loaded up the world, go to the Resource Packs settings and activate Villager_Pack and Icon Xaero's (I know it says made for a newer version, but it still works).
Quick Guide (full guide coming later):
1. Start your game with a bonus chest. If the chest doesn't contain at least 2 apples you're going to have a difficult time.
2. Kill zombies until they drop enough iron to craft both a cauldron and a bucket.
3. Place the cauldron and wait for rain to fill it up. I've increased the chance of both rain and thunderstorms so it shouldn't be too difficult.
4. Use the bucket and bottles obtained from witches to get an infinite water source.
5. Use the water to convert zombies into drowned, and kill them for copper.
6. Make lightning rods, collect pigs, and get them struck with lightning.
7. Kill the resulting zombie pigmen and get enough gold to make your apples into golden apples.
8. Get a witch to throw a potion of weakness at a zombie villager, and feed it a golden apple to cure it.
9. Repeat the process until you have enough villagers to breed, and start a trading hall.
9.5. Technically optional, but incredibly difficult otherwise. Trade with a wanderer to obtain saplings and grow wood.
10. Craft a bellows to turn a villager into a Smelter.
11. Trade with a Smelter to obtain lava, make a portal, and go to the nether.
12. Either find the rare Blaze Pillar (an obsidian pillar with a blaze spawner inside), or craft the cindershell furnace and trade with the Hell Expert villager and obtain blaze rods.
13. Either find a waystone in the nether or trade with a Cleric for amethyst and craft one to turn a villager into an Explorer, and trade with the Explorer to obtain a purpur tank.
14. Use this purpur tank to turn a villager into a Void Seeker, and trade him eyes of ender until he sells end portal frames (he only sells three per day, and for a steep price).
15. Kill the dragon.
16. Profit.
17. (The Void Seeker might have a surprise at Master Level, so grab a dragon egg and check in).
Major changes:
1. If you find a zombie horse in the wild, you may ride it about as you wish. However, upon you dying, it will revert back to a more bestial state, and will destroy its saddle. It must then be re-tamed.
2. Witches can drop water bottles and sinister carrots (and item used to turn zombie horses into skeleton horses).
3. Pigs have a very small chance to drop apples.
4. Zombies have a slightly increased chance to drop iron ingots.
5. There are more mobs that can spawn: Bison, Ferrets, Butterflies, Raccoons, Robins, Ravens, Hard Shell Spiders, Forgotten, Murmur, and Cave Centipedes. Bison are a new food source, Ferrets can be tamed with raw rabbit (from trading with villagers), Butterflies make crops grow faster when nearby, Raccoons currently serve no purpose, Robins can be tamed with Wheat, Ravens can be tamed by throwing them pumpkin seeds, Hard Shell Spiders are immune to projectiles, Forgotten drop their hat when defeated, Murmur can drop a rare chestplate, and Cave Centipede legs can be made into wall-climbing leggings.
6. Crops can be harvested by right-clicking.
7. Phantoms no longer spawn when you don't sleep, and will instead spawn in large numbers during full moons. Their drops are much more useful now.
8. Six new villager types; four exclusive, two not. The Smelter, Explorer, Hell Expert, and Voidseeker are exclusive, and the Beekeper and Animal Tamer aren't. The Spawner is currently under-development.
9. With bones and sticks, you can craft the new bone tools, making it just a bit easier to survive.
10. Crafting the Slime Ring will slightly repair any items you are wearing or holding in your offhand.
11. Three wool can craft the sleeping bag, used to skip night without setting your spawn.
12. Crafting a pet bed and making one of your tamed creatures sit on it will set their spawn there. Once you see the z's, you'll know they're safe.
13. Diamond tools can be smelted into diamond nuggets, so you can finally make that jukebox.
14. Two sticks can craft the survival fire sticks (may remove in later versions), a flint and steel with much lower durability.
15. Waystones allow you to travel to any other waystone, at the cost of some xp.
If you need to contact me, my Twitter (or X, I guess, ugh) is @alien_admiral. Might make a discord eventually, who knows.
Please note: this modpack does not make superflat run at a higher fps. Optimized is just a cool word. I would tell you to sue me, but I don't have the money for that.
Mod List: a list of mods and their creators (I really only configured everything):
Credit for the new villager profession textures goes to iHopeICanChangeThis on Planetminecraft, they said we could use their resourcepack in modpacks, I'm not sure if they meant like this but I'm grateful nonetheless (big fan, by the way).
