Goatman

Goatman is getting his spawnrate reduced heavily because he is annoying. This is just a stepping stone into my future plans for him - making him more territorial, only spawning in certain biomes (like the sandworm).

Creeper!

Reduced creeper spawnrates by about  40%, as they were spawning way too often for some reason. This also compensates for The Graveyard's 'Skeleton Creeper' also being in the spawn table, so hopefully levels feel normal now.

New Mods

  • Creature Compendium: Beasts, Golems & Curses - adds three new weird creatures to the overworld.
  • Biomancy - I actually wanted this in the pack originally, but thought it was only for 1.18 Minecraft builds. It's not!
  • Abyssal Decor - I don't want to add too many decoration mods because I think they can easily swamp the player with too many new items to realistically use. This one really fits the aesthetic theme I want for the pack though, so it's the first one I've added.

Philosophy

  • Overworld - I'd like the overworld to become a sort of Oddworld-esque place, dreamlike & liminal whilst still encouraging exploration. One issue I have with vanilla Overworld is how easy it is to acquire rare resources, mostly from structures. I'd also like food to be far less available (so players actually need to BUILD a farm or fishing hut) and I think that's somewhat accomplished this far.
  • Caves - Going to try push the 'Horror' down to the caves, so that you are not being harassed 24/7 whilst building above-ground. This is quite easily achievable by just disabling certain monsters spawning above a fixed Y level, like how Spiders currently are.
