What is Starlight RPG?
Starlight RPG is a modpack that aims to add a lot of dungeons, mobs, dimensions, and overall content to Minecraft without taking away thee overall feel of Minecraft. Of course, Starlight RPG is still a very different experience from vanilla Minecraft. Battle Towers, Dimensional rifts, dangerous primitive mobs, and mysterious structures from Astral Sorcery / Recurrent Complex / Ruins populate the world. Villages are larger, more beautiful, and have waypoints to help you casually travel between them MMO style. Horses, Snowmen, and Wolves are aided by various mods to make them more valuable.

Unlike many other modpacks, Starlight RPG should not be a discouraging experience for players. Although Tinker's Construct and Astral Sorcery may be difficult and learned content, neither are necessary nor feel imposed upon the player. They can still find legendary weapons scattered across rare structures, learn sword skills by dungeoning, and take on powerful bosses with skill and reflex. In essence, the entire pack can be enjoyed and completed without having to learn much of anything. Most content is explained in-game! I think this is important because many popular tech and magic modpacks fail to deliver content that a player can just pick up and enjoy. Most is gated behind a bland and hardly explained learning curve. Instead of that, this pack tries to make a memorable experience that the player can just delve right into and feel immersed.
What makes Starlight RPG unique?
Other than having something for everyone and combining obscure and popular mods, Starlight RPG has a system known as "Soul Over" in which players will slowly and gradually acquire souls of mobs through bonding souls with them in combat or by synthesizing artificial mob souls. They can then transform into those mobs and gain special powers! - but don't worry, this is all very easy! Pressing (~) by default will show the player the very straight forward tasks needed to acquire these soul overs. Some are simply going to be completed naturally as you progress through content, others require a lot of guided mining. Every soul over is balanced and none are intended to replace the player's base form which you will be switching in and out of with brackets. For instance, we have this clanky boi:

Another example of a soul over is a guardian soul over which makes the player a fish that can only breathe in water and is not attacked by its fellow ocean creatures. The Valkyrie Queen from the Aether is also one and can glide naturally- this stacks with the golden feather from the same mod. Credit to a combination of metamorph AND better questing mods. Both were necessary to make things the way they are.
What dimensions are in Starlight RPG?
The First that stands out is the original Aether via the Aether legacy mod. Then we have the beautiful Twilight Forest, a heavily enhanced version of Vanilla's Nether, An end with a new mob and new ores, and last but not least the Betweenlands. This pack took a different route and made the Betweenlands only accessible when all other dimensions are fully cleared by the player making it the hardest and final challenge of the modpack. We can also count dimensional rifts and a player's personal pocket dimensions, I suppose.
Is it multiplayer compatible?
In sort, yes! If you want to make a server, I recommend using my Bisect Hosting Referral link. Search for it in the Jojovein modpack curse page.![]()
I have a question that the wiki cannot answer?
Ask here of course! Or dm me. I want to get a discord server going for this but haven't gotten around to it quite yet. Also need some volunteer mods.
What version is this for?
1.12.2, and it will always be that way. But content from 1.13 is already more or less covered by other mods in the pack- coral, shipwrecks, means of swimming in 1x1 areas, etc.
There is a crash
Report it to me please. Crash report, context, and all. I want to make sure this pack does not crash.
It will not finish launching!
Just look up how to add more memory. Plenty of tutorials out there. ![]()
