Description
Space Expedition, made by danapheous (here), is a popular, survival/vanilla map made to explore a strange, new planet teeming with life. From seasons, to machines, to even devices, it does a lot on its own.
However, there are limits to vanilla mechanics, and what danapheous can do to make it better. Limits to machines, mechanics that vanilla itself hinders. You can't place a breaker in every direction, nor can you have more than a few double chests in storage.
This is where the modpack comes in, to not only make things interesting, but to enhance the map, along with vanilla itself. From totems, to seasons (eventually), this modpack is designed to complement Space Expedition, while keeping to the vanilla side of things
Current Features:
Cauldron!
Complements to the Cauldron! Cauldrons can now be used to brew potions, dye wool various colors, and even make more dyes if you desire!
This works with Space's own cauldron/brewing room you unlock later! Brewing won't work as it lacks a fire underneath, but everything else does!
Totems:
Vanilla has one totem, the Totem of Undying. That's not reallly going to help you if you plummet into the void, now will it? That's where the new totems come in!
They're not really common mind you. Their remains are carried by mobs, sometimes through unusual means. Looting seems to help locate the errant heads more frequently, but its still a challenge.
From Ascending Totems, when you plummet into the void, to Spelunking totems that can sense ores, they're quite useful for your day to day use. They also can be worn as a trinket in your baubles slot.
Bugs:
-Ascending Totem doesn't work if you have a elytra. A fix is coming, but for now, just switch off the glider!
Travel:
Now you don't need to carry ladders anymore! Well...you kinda do. Rope ladders and Ropes are now available! Ropes are used to climb up, but they need a ceiling to attach to. Perfect for your spelunking needs! Or you can use its brother, the Rope Ladder! It requires a block to attach to, but you can stack ladders onto a single source! Just keep right clicking the first ladder, and watch as the ladders tumble downwards!
Airships are also available! Tired of the elytra? Want to carry more room? Don't mind going just a bit slower so you don't crash into the nearest cliff? We got you covered. Though they're a bit expensive, they're valuable overall. With the right upgrades, you can turn your trusty airship into a viable boat for extended travel! Now why would you need a boat? Well....I'll let you find that out on your own.
Greater Storage
So, vanilla chests have a limit to what they can hold. Normally, this is fine and dandy, hell its even beneficial at times to make sure you get the best experience with your storage system. But, its rather limited in size.
Introducting: Iron Chests!
Just upgradeable, powerful chests! They contain a lot more than the vanilla chest, and can be upgraded using materials.
But, you might have too many chests. Confused where your diamond hoe disappeared to? Tired of sorting through 23 chests just to find a nether wart? I introduce to you, sorting chests!
Stick a priority on em, put what items you want in them, and boom! Controlled storage that you can sort however you want! It even has iron chests support!
HUD:
A fancy hud to match your future tech! Now that's what I'm talking about! See health of mobs, your own saturation bar, and even how far certain blocks are from you! Don't like it? Just turn it all off using your Better Hud button. You can turn off saturation values by going to Apple Core and flicking them off in your Mod Options menu!
Misc Stuff:
Some smaller features include: Spotlights! Customize em to your hearts content and use them as waypoints! Take that beacons!
A parry mechanic to the shield! Block just right, and you can reflect projectiles back to the attackers! Murder a ghast with its own fireball, or tell the skeleton to have a taste of its own arrow!
Cosmetic Armor! Tired of Leather? Now you can wear armor that looks cool, but is functionally worthless! Just press C to equip whatever! Diamond is now obtainable again! (looks wise at least)
Tips:
Mob farms will help with totems! Just be careful how you do it, don't want a million guardians zapping your face off now do you?
You can install optifine with this pack, nothing is incompatible!
