New update!

Now that we've played a bit more and found some unwanted interactions between mods, it's time to start patching those. Also, it's time to iterate some mid-to-endgame mechanics to try and find some sort of balance! I've always kind of despised Quarries and Excavators, but as we need some sort of techy late-game alternative to spending hours mining for iron and copper, there has got to be some balanced way of doing that. The alternative we're trying this time is that instead of IE Excavator producing heaps of ore directly, it now mostly spews out Rockhounding: Chemistry gangues. This requires heaps of machinery and tinkering to automate the output so it still be quite involved process.

Back to those unwanted interactions; Thaumcraft Infernal Furnace was accidentally nerfed into the abyss with vanilla furnace changes. It should now be a lot more efficient at processing stuff again. Also, BWM HCInjury and armor slow modifier stacked with often quite brutal results so those were toned down a lot.

Additionally I threw in some Quality of Life improvements and updated mods to newest versions. Updated version of the HCIsland is coming in after next server world reset, probably in a couple of weeks; that should bring some needed biome variety to the starting island. But until then, let's see how these changes work.

Added mods

  • Added "Login Shield" to reduce situations where people were dying instantly when changing dimensions

Fixes

  • Adjusted melting recipes in Tinkers' Smeltery for chainmail armor and buckets to prevent iron duping

Changes

  • Thaumcraft & Rockhounding: Ore tiers
    • Due to vanilla furnace nerfs regarding smelting ores, Infernal Furnace was kind of useless for ore processing. It should now be considerably more efficient at smelting ores into ingots. More specifically:
      • Ores now smelt into 1 ingot and 1 nugget
      • Tiered coal ores' outputs are doubled
      • Amber and Cinnabar have 25% chance of double output
      • Tiered iron ores can now be smelted in furnaces and the Infernal Furnace, latter being more efficient. Although, remember that Bloomery is still more efficient than any furnace, infernal or not.
  • Immersive Engineering
    • Excavator now produces mostly Rockhounding: Chemistry gangues instead of ores. Get ready to do some wild ore processing setups, no more easy ores in mid-game for you!
    • Increased the chance that chunk contains a mineral vein from 0.2 to 0.35
  • Better With Mods:
    • Tweaked HCInjury
      • Hurt speed penalty reduced from 0.75 to 0.95
      • Injured speed penalty reduced from 0.75 to 0.9
      • Wounded speed penalty reduced from 0.5 to 0.8
      • Crippled speed penalty reduced from 0.25 to 0.75
      • Dying speed penalty reduced from 0.25 to 0.6
      • Player can now attack while injured, wounded or crippled. Player still cannot attack if dying (less than 1.5 hearts)
      • Player can now jump while crippled
    • Tweaked HCStumping
      • Increased root break speed from 0.01 to 0.05
      • Increased stump break speed from 0.03 to 0.08
    • Tweaked HCStrata
      • Increased wrong strata mining speed from 0.1 to 0.5
      • Reduced mining speed multiplier on medium strata from 1.0 to 0.95
      • Reduced mining speed multiplier on hard strata from 1.0 to 0.9

Updated mods "Scaling Health", "Quark", "Rockhounding: Core", "Rockhounding: Chemistry", "Rockhounding: Surface", "Rockhounding: Ore tiers" and "Chisel and Bits" to newest versions
