New patch! A few days running around and dying a lot has taught us a lot about the pack as it currently stands. First of all, difficulty went sky-high way too fast early on due to super-slow early game caused by rockhounding and BWM changing pacing. Also, the monsters being made stronger by Zombie Awareness and Scaling Health made early nights simply terrifying.

 

For now, difficulty build-up has been made a lot slower and torches cheaper (Torches could already be circumvented with stone torches). Also, Blights were slightly too common and not quite terrifying enough, so they have been made slightly rarer and slightly stronger.

 

Expect further tweaks to how monsters spawn on the island down the lane, but this will hopefully do for now.

  • Updated XP From harvest, Apotheosis, Quark, Pam's HarvestCraft, HCIsland and Astral Sorcery to newest versions

Fixes

  • Fixed Thaumcraft books "Crimson Rites" and "Thaumonomicon" not being counted as books for Inspirations bookshelf
  • Disabled mimics as they were causing issues. Will likely be enabled again at later

Changes

  • Scaling health:
    • Mobs no longer spawn with invisibility potion effect
    • Reduced hostile mob potion chance from 0.375 to 0.2
    • Increased chance that passive mobs drop a heart canister from 0.001 to 0.005
    • Blights now always drop at least one heart container
    • Reduced the chance mobs spawn as blights from 0.0625 to 0.04
    • Increased blighted enemy difficulty multiplier from 3 to 3.5 (makes them slightly stronger)
    • Reduced blighted enemy speed potion amplifier from 4 to 2 (gotta go fast, but not THAT fast)
    • Increased the XP multiplier for blighted enemies from 10 to 50
    • Increased mob XP drop scaling per difficulty from 0.01 to 0.015
    • Mob max attack damage bonus from difficulty raised from 10 to 20
    • Mob attack strength gain from difficulty reduced from 0.1 to 0.05
    • Players now lose a level of difficulty when dying
    • Reduced difficulty scaling over time from 0.001 per second to 0.0003 per second (difficulty should ramp up a lot slower now)
    • AFK players now gain difficulty at 25% of the rate active players do (was 70%)
    • Difficulty gain multiplier from nearby players reduced from 0.05 per player to 0.015 per player
    • Difficulty from distance to spawn raised from 0.0025 to 0.005
