A difficult expansion on what hardcore is in every sense - prepare yourself!

Description

XHARDCOREX Modpack by Senpai

Welcome to XHARDCOREX a remodel of what hardcore experience is in every sense, this modpack was inspired by RLcraft but in a way that it plays differently

Many mods inpact difficulty level, both immediate and gradually, but as you start you will discover things are not as they seem.

You start off weaker than normal, with the potential to lose the world almost right away - so you must play smart to enhance your character and survive.

~~ CURRENT ISSUES ~~

As we near the end of development of the pack, some noticable issues have started to occur, they are as follow:

Sometimes requirements for items show red but are valid, also times where skill is sufficient but still penalises using/wearing

Also, issues with stacking have been seen since fix4 and am unable to determine the cause, may end up being unfixable

Optifine, and shaders are a problem with the pack, there is sodium in place to improve performance and low rate textures

However over the course of many updates, alot of issues have been fixed

~~ OVERVIEW ~~

This modpack is the culmination of hard work and careful configuring, X-hardcore-X is very difficult but quite enjoyable depending on skill.

Suffice it to say it's not as hard as RLCRAFT, but it's pretty dang hard - HARDCORE!! lol

The goal would be to survive 100 days without dying, or in co-op, making sure all players do not fall for the same time frame

Additionally you can choose to do all achievements, or beat each of the bosses or try to obtain survival on the highest difficulty

But the one that counts is not dying for 100 days - even if mistakes occur and you have died by mistake, do not continue (singleplayer)

There is alot of content, mechanics, features, and factors to consider when playing x-hardcore-x, with many ways to play.

First off - I would like to clarify that you should not play this pack if you dont intend to play hardcore, that is it's only purpose.

There are several tiers of mobs that spawn at any time, and progressive difficulty to all enemies as time goes on.

That said, there are stat mods, player class benefits, weapon/armor support for almost any encounter, and a bunch of other features.

Another unique aspect is that this modpack is suited for multiplayer, there is a player revive feature if you fall.

However the pack runs optimally as single player experience, as there are issues with lan-based servers (pc specs, latency, etc)

Features such as cursed hardcore which you start with 5 hearts, Project MMO skills will allow more hearts, food mods aswell.

Some aspects of the game are locked by progression which offer some challenge to the survival

Alot of the usual aspects of hardcore are adjusted to work in a custom but compatible way.

There are some things that are nice of course, biome bonus xp, class powerups, crit bonuses, stat/item synergy, and many other things.

The main dangers are the scaled difficulty over time, the night time, increased spawn and danger from mobs, and the bosses get harder each time.

So common strategies would be to gain hearts, keep gaining better gear/tools/weapons especially stat boost ones, and avoid night.

I would like to say this pack is beatable despite the difficulty, I will personally add evidence of victory once I reach 100 days.

We have a Wall of Warriors on this page for anyone who can beat the challenge, video or picture evidence is needed to be added.

You can use statistics for the world to show Death Count 0, or a youtube video in the comments of this page showing the same.

 ~~ CURRENT ~~

A large overhaul of vanilla mechanics with progression requirements

An MMO experience with stat gains that can be increased by certain items, and unlock access to more stuff

Scaling Difficulty for player and mob difficulty, health and damage system that grows with time

Skill attribute allows a starter class which pre-allocates selected points into specific things to start with

The loot system is based on lootr which is a multiplayer feature for giving loot to each player (client-sided)

Multiplayer is built into the pack, but not from a dedicated standpoint, instead you can use the custom LAN menu (refer to recommended)

Config/setup - everything is designed to function as intended, very little changes are allowed to the pack - as it's a complete experience

* Disclaimer - DO NOT use optifine, magnesium/sodium is not compatible, and mostly gives same options.

If you wish to use optifine, edit profile, allow content management - and disable magnesium mods

Magnesium has 4 mods in total - better options, main file, and 2 extras (though it is not advised)

~~ RECOMMENDED ~~

Apart from basic controls you should not need to adjust much of anything, settings applied with the modpack is designed to run optimally to reduce any lag that may occur

Mod menu tab is there to edit things if necessary but was mostly for development purposes, it's best not to use as the config setup is very specific.

For server/co-op there is no way to use on dedicated server, the LAN mod included hosts from PC and is suitable to stay active only during host play

When using the LAN mod, make sure cheats and pvp is turned off - it will not work ideally if left on.

The scale of the game is also made intentional, map size and overlay positions, best kept as is, if something interferes it'll be fixed in a patch.

The ideal way to play multi is 2 players, no more than 3 - as it's hosted from the PC there can be some optimisation issues.

Thats mostly the conditions for playing.

 ~~ STRATEGIES ~~

Here are just some pointers if you aren't sure this pack appeals to you, as far as hardcore goes this one is quite different

* Starting Out - The playstyle you choose through the 3 options will affect your abilities and strengths on a gamestyle way, so choose wisely. *

* Health - Starting with half the default, and many enemies known or unknown can be a bit daunting, I suggest getting a gain and quickly - there are various ways *

* Stats - skills play an important role in an environment such as this - you never know what is required to survive, so always strive to gain as much skill as you can, also there are requirements to interact with many things, such as ores, armor, tools, etc - some items have a direct impact on the gain your stats will have, such as shields and armor, tooltips will always tell you that stuff. *

* Basics - as far as standard stuff goes, it will get you half of what you need, food, XP, armor/weapons, and better tools to, but in addition to that - you have progression that locks items behind a stat level, so setting goals early on could be most beneficial, but most of all gaining hearts is a worthy persuit. *

* Difficulty - not only is this hardcore, the hardest of gamemodes, you also have scaling difficulty, which is built on distance from spawn, and time played - so sleeping can raise you a level of difficulty, and enemies will get a little stronger, so always advance anything you can to keep the playing field even, or in your favour if possible *

* The world - As it so happens there are many biomes that play a role in this pack, the generic ones like plains, desert, jungle - may have particular dangers that other biomes do not have, yes - im talking about dragons and other things of a vile nature. Always check where you are before entering a dangerous place, and some places need avoiding altogether until you are ready - whether you recognise that or not can determine whether you live or die. *

* Dangers - it goes without saying there is many dangers in this pack, the world, the creatures, yourself lol - ah but seriously, you are your own worst enemy at times, being able to double jump, gain extra strength, abilities and artifacts, better gear that enhance stats, you can just as easily unprepare yourself with a false sense of security and fall into a trap or something inescapable, so stay on your feet! *

* Dimensions - so there's a number of trials that face you, the first being the overworld, infact those challenges should be the final ones - the ender dragon and wither boss are viable goals to start with, but with progression they get more difficult each time, once you are satisfied, a whole new world will open to you, the nether is mixed with many things of modded origin, and can be very fun to explore, the end is also different, dont let the stunning visuals of better end get the better of you - that place is still quite dangerous. *

* Niceties - now with every hellbent hardcore experience where many things are set to be challenging and difficult - comes it's share of niceties, such examples should be kept a secret but I'll give a few pointers - the goblin traders for one, have very nice deals, tools and books giving a +1 on the enchant, stone for emeralds, even using things like dragon heads can be extremely rewarding, other things like the loot quality from certain venues can be quite nice, hidden underground secrets also have a huge impact on loot and sometimes guarded with alot of enemies, but it's worth going for. *

I highly suggest if you are streamer, to use twitch chat integration mod, you can use /twitch authenticate ingame and follow prompts

ALSO YES, I do add dragons, NO I dont leave them on default setting, they spawn rare, balanced damage/health and will still be a threat.

The worldgen is set to Realistic by default and comes with specific changes to make the world function properly, this includes The Nether and The End.

I would also like to say the dangers in this mod are mostly during mistakes/negligence - I've thoroughly tested every type of encounter and they are survivable.

I would like to thank you for playing this modpack

XX WALL OF WARRIORS XX

Dante041 on 25/09/22 0 Bosses 2 Deaths (Overlooked due to bug)

Note: Once again proof of victory would be required so a reference to an image, or a youtube video with the statistic showing deaths at 0 and 100 days played.

A tester named SirAgentWhiskey has been helping for quite a while, credit to him for helping me shape this pack better.
