Huge change here, new modpack version to clean up the config files. Many mods have been taken out that were no longer in use or are for the future, and some new additions have been made.
[Edit]: Forgot to mention, but Wandering Bags and Shield Expansion have also been added into the pack properly; they were supposed to be added in 0.5.3 but I forgot to include them. I added them in 0.5.5 but didn't include them in the mod list.
Mods Removed:
Tectonic
- As you will see in mods added, I've forgone Tectonic. It caused a significant decrease in performance due to the size increase of the world, and offered only a few benefits over the world generation mod I have selected in its place.
Weather, Storms & Tornadoes
- As cool as tornados and hurricanes are, looking at a tornado demolished framerate despite my attempts at reducing its usage. There is a much smaller, less gpu intensive mod to sort of take its place.
[SBM] Wooden Shears
- There are already Bone Shears and if those are hard to get for early wool, there is a new Ceramic shear I'll talk about later.
Diet
- I still cannot get Spice of Overhaul or Spice of Life: Classic to function properly, so I've elected to re-add Nutrition in place of Diet as it provides actual downside, to further increase the difficulty.
Sleeping Overhaul 2
- Sleeping Overhaul didn't quite work as I hoped it would when combined with Sleep Tight, so I've replaced it.
Horse Expert
- I've opted to keep the horse stats on Jade, rather than add a separate mod for it.
Yung's Better Mineshafts
- As with many of the other removed mods, I've added a replacement for Yung's Better Mineshafts.
CraftTweaker
JEITweaker
KubeJS
LootJS: KubeJS Addon
Spark
- This selection of mods were all for testing purposes, as well as performance optimization. Since they aren't needed for full release, I've removed them for now. CraftTweaker may return if I need to adjust recipes later down the line, as well as KubeJS for when I work on the Quest system.
Immersive Weathering
- This mod was taking an incredible toll on performance, especially when run alongside Project: Vibrant Journey. Little of the mod was actually used by the player so it can safely go.
Mods Added:
Cook your food
- Further increases the difficulty of early game food, removing the ability to eat many raw meats and items such as potatos unless in dire need.
Lithosphere
- My replacement for Tectonic. It's significantly lighter on the cpu, adds similar content (minus the underground rivers, you will be missed) and overall performs better when loading chunks.
Dungeon Crawl
- I felt a lack of dungeons despite this being an adventuring pack, so a large selection of similar dungeons from Crawl should increase the exploration aspect.
Better Clouds Reforged
- Not quite as intense as Weather, Storms & Tornados, but adds to the ambiance of the world without increasing the gpu load too much.
Harder Stone Tools
- In order to slow down the early game tool progression, stone tools (specifically the pickaxe) are significantly harder to craft. As far as I've tested, it's quite hard to get stone tools on day 1, 2, even 3, so you'll be on bone and wooden tools for much longer than a day.
Ceramic Shears
- Smaller loaded mod to replace Wooden Shears. They're harder to craft, but still allow for early wool gathering for beds and backpacks. I'm on the fence about disabling bone shears as those are really easy to acquire, may change later.
Embeddium++
- Allowed me to increase the cloud height to match the increased world height, as well as some more performance optimizations. I've elected to enable True Darkness by default, feel free to change it if it feels too difficult to play with.
Steve’s Realistic Sleep
- Works with Sleep Tight much better to add more difficulty to nighttime and sleeping. I have not tuned either mod yet so come 0.6.1 or 0.6.2 the configs for these two mods should be set.
Hopo Better Mineshaft
- Very simple, replaces Yungs better Mineshafts. Has more content, generates better when combined with Lithosphere, and isn't as heavy on the gpu.
